GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This item shall consist of fabricating and furnishing all parts and materials required for the complete assembly of an aluminum structural plate box culvert . The box culvert shall be delivered to the Southold Town Highway complex with an inventory list indicating all items shipped and shall be accompanied by all necessary instructions required for assembly. 2. MATERIAL : The Aluminum box culvert shall be structure # 44C as manufactured by CONTECH or approved equal. The dimensions of the box culvert shall be 19 ' -5" wide by 6 ' -11" high by 30 ' -0" long. The haunch gage plates shall be 0 . 150" thick and the crown gage plates shall be 0 . 200" thick. The complete culvert shall include a full invert with toewalls, two (2 ) basewalls, four (4 ) corner panels, twelve ( 12 ) wing panels and all anchor rods, deadman, anchors, double whale beams and miscellaneous hardware necessary for a complete installation. Corrugated aluminum box culvert shall be fabricated from Alloy 5052-H141 and shall meet the requirements of AASHTO M219. All of the Aluminum extruded shapes shall be fabricated from Alloy 6061-T6 meeting the requirements of ASTM B-221 . The plates and ribs shall be fastened by hot-dipped galvanized steel nuts and bolts as found in the current ASTM A307 specification. The shell thickness and rib spacing in the box culvert shall be as required by the manufacturer based on the minimum cover and wheel load requirements in accordance with AASHTO Section 12 . 8. 3 . ASSEMBLY: The box culvert shall be constructed and assembled by others .
