DESCRIPTION OF WORK: ITEM # 1 : This item shall consist of the installation of a new Standard TX-4 Chiller Heat Exchanger located in the east end basement of the Town Hall . This work in required to retrofit the existing "York" 4 Ton nominal 48 ,000 BTU Heat Exchanger Chiller System. A. Basic Equipment Required. 1 - Standard TX-4 Heat Exchanger Chiller Barrel . 1 - Alco HCFC-4 Thermostatic expansion valve powerhead assembly. 1 - FK 164 Liquid Line Dryer . 1 - AM1-FM1 Moisture Indicator Sight Glass . B. Related Work Required. This item shall include the reclaiming and recovery of all refrigerant; The mounting of the TX-4 to the concrete wall of the mechanical room; The installation of a thermostatic expansion valve , liquid line dryer, and moisture indicator sight glass; The evacuation of said system, and all necessary purging and recharging of the system. Related work also includes the draining of the old heat exchanger chiller; The cutting and threading of hydronic water pipe to accommodate the new chiller; The filling and bleeding of the system; and The installation of freeze-guard thermostats to protect the new heat exchanger from freeze-up. ITEM # 2 : This item shall consist of the installation of a complete heat exchanger chiller system for the hydronic air conditioning system located in the east end basement of the Town Hall . A. Basic Equipment Required. 1 - Continental Minipac Split-type Chiller Model # CAD 5 B . Related Work Required. This item shall include the dismantling and removal of the old chiller unit . The installation of the new chiller unit shall include all necessary piping and wiring for a complete installation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK CONTINUED: ITEM # 3 : This item shall consist of the removal of all fiberglass and plaster insulation on hydronic heating, ventilation, and air conditioning pipes located in all rooms in the east end basement area of the Town Hall . All exposed pipe shall be inspected for leaks . Any leaks found in joints or lateral points shall be repaired by the contractor and all pipe shall be cleaned and treated prior to re-insulating with new closed cell pipe insulation. A. Basic Equipment Required. 1 - Standard TX-4 Heat Exchanger Chiller Barrel . 1 - Alco HCFC-4 Thermostatic expansion valve powerhead assembly. 1 - FK 164 Liquid Line Dryer . 1 - AM1-FM1 Moisture Indicator Sight Glass . B. Related Work Required. This item shall include the reclaiming and recovery of all refrigerant; The mounting of the TX-4 to the concrete wall of the mechanical room; The installation of a thermostatic expansion valve , liquid line dryer, and moisture indicator sight glass; The evacuation of said system, and all necessary purging and recharging of the system. Related work also includes the draining of the old heat exchanger chiller; The cutting and threading of hydronic water pipe to accommodate the new chiller; The filling and bleeding of the system; and The installation of freeze-guard thermostats to protect the new heat exchanger from freeze-up. ITEM # 2 : This item shall consist of the installation of a complete heat exchanger chiller system for the hydronic air conditioning system located in the east end basement of the Town Hall . A. Basic Equipment Required. 1 - Continental Minipac Split-type Chiller Model # CAD 5 B. Related Work Required. This item shall include the dismantling and removal of the old chiller unit . The installation of the new chiller unit shall include all necessary piping and wiring for a complete installation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK CONTINUED: ITEM # 3 : This item shall consist of the removal of all fiberglass and plaster insulation on hydronic heating, ventilation, and air conditioning pipes located in all rooms in the east end basement area of the Town Hall . All exposed pipe shall be inspected for leaks . Any leaks found in joints or lateral points shall be repaired by the contractor and all pipe shall be cleaned and treated prior to re-insulating with new closed cell pipe insulation. A. Basic Equipment Required. * Rustoleum 5300 system water based epoxy 2 - Component System. * Armstrong (Armaflex ) Polyethylene Therma-Cell Elastomeric insulatube insulation. * Halstead Contact Adhesive . * Calgon Self-adhering Foam Insulation Tape . B. Related Work Required. This item shall include the removal of all existing H.V.A.C. pipe insulation located in all of the east end basement room areas of the Town Hall . These rooms shall include the DA' s Offices , Trustees office , Storage room, Mechanical room and hallway. All pipe and fitting surfaces shall be completely cleaned to bare metal by scraping , wire brushing or other effective means . Any and all leaks found in the piping system shall be repaired according to acceptable industry standards . All exposed metal surfaces shall be treated with the epoxy coating system prior to re-insulation with new pipe insulation.
