Meeting of April 1 , 1974

Absent: Frederick E. Gordon
Also present: Loraine Terry; Orville Terry; Evelyn Gordon,
representing the North~For~ Taxpayers Association; and Loretta
Hess, representing the Long~ Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman
Application of Keith Harris for a wetland permit was received
from the Southold Town Board requesting a written report of
findings and recommendations with respect to this application.
On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was
RESOLVED that the Board of Southold Town Trustees recommend
to the Southold Town Board the denial of the application of
Keith Harris to fill in the back yard of his property at 265
Freeman Road, Mattituc~, New York. The Board finds that the
area to be filled is a drainage area, is definitely valuable
wetlands, and adjoining property in the area has a similar
condition.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr.
Morton, Mr. Bird.
Application was received from John Swiske¥, Bayvlew Road,
Southold, New York, for permission to place an offshore stake
in Corey Creek.
On ~otion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was
RESOLVED that John Swiske¥, Bayview Road, Southold, New York
be granted permzssion to place an offshore stake zn Corey Creek,
off the Laughing Waters Property-Owners Association beach, Southold,
New York, all in accordance with the detailed specifications as
presented in the originating appti~a~ti~n~ Fee-S5.00.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird. '
Application was received from William B. Sterling, Harbor Lane,
Cutchogue, New York, for permission to add a "T" to his present
floating dock.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by-Mr. Robertson, it was
RESOLVED that William B. Sterling, Harbor Lane, Cutchog~e, New York,
be granted permission to add' a 4 ft~ by' 20 ft~ "T'" to his present
floating dock at East Creek, off Harbor Lane, Cutchogue, Hew York,
all in accordance with the detailed specifications as presented in
the originating application. Fee $8.00.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird.
Application was received from Clement J. Charnels, Jr. for
permission to place an offshore-onshore mooring in Corey Creek,
Southold, New York.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Bird, it was
RESOLVED that Clement J. Charnews, Jr., North Bayview Road, Southold,
be granted permission to plate an offshore-onshore mooring in Corey
Creek, at the foot of Minnehaha Boulevard, Sou~hold, New York, all
in accordance with'the detailed specifications as presented in the
originating application. Fee $5.00.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. RObertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird.
On motion of Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Roberts~,it was
RESOLVED that the MarCh 4,-1974 minutes Of the Board of South~ld
Town Trustees be approved as submittedt
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird.
On motion of Mr. Bird, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was
RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees
~hall be held at 7:30 P.M.,~ Monday, May 6, 1974 at the Town Board
meeting room, 16 South S'tre~t,' Greenport, New York.
Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton,
Mr. Bird.
