Judith T. Terry, Southold Town Clerk." There's proof of publication of
this legal notice in the Traveler-Watchman, also, that it has been posted
on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board. There are two pieces of
correspondence, one from the County of Suffolk Department of Planning.
Pursuant to the requirements of Section A 14~1~ to 23 of the Suffolk
County Administrative Code the above referenced application, which has
been submitted to the Suffolk County Planning Commission is considered to
be a matter for local determination as there is no apparent significant
countywide or inter-community impact. A decision of local determination
should not be construed as either an approval or disapproval. Very truJy
yours, Stephen M. Jones, Director of Planning. Also, from the Southold
Town Planning Board, re the proposed Local Law in Relation to Fire
Equipment Access. Dear Mrs. Terry. The Planning Board has reviewed
the proposed Local Law in Relation to Fire Equipment Access, and the
Board has no objection to the proposal. Signed, Richard G. Ward,
Chairman.
SUPERVISOR COCHRAN: Hearing the Local Law in Relation to Fire
Equipment Access, anyone like to address the Board either pro or con?
ANDY RUROEDE: My name is Andy Rureode. I am President of the
Southold Town Fire District Association. We do have one problem with the
way it came to us. It says, paragraph one, surface free from potholes,
ruts or other defects. That was stricken from the regulation. This
doesn't involve the fire trucks so much, but it does bother the EM
officers. If anyone is in the ambulance, their back is hurt, or you're
doing CPR, or anything in the back going down the road with a lot of
ruts and potholes. It's impossible.
SUPERVISOR COCHRAN: Thank you. Its a good point. Would anyone
else like to address the Board? (No response.) If not, we'll close the
hearing. Thank you.
