This Local Law shall take effect upon filing with the State. * Underline represents additions. Copies of this Local Law are available in the Office of the Town Clerk to any interested persons during business hours. Dated: May 2, 1995. Judith T. Terry, Southold Town Clerk." I have proof of publication in The Suffolk Times, and proof it has been posted on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board. There are no communications. At Mattituck, between Westphalia Road and a point 200 feet east- erly of the east curbline of Love Lane Secretary of SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: Is there anyone who would like to address the Board on any of these? Mr. Capon? GEORGE CAPON: George Capon, 509 Seventh Street, Creenport. I can understand no parking on Seventh Street from Front Street, used to be from Front Street to Wiggins Street. Now, they got it from Front Street all the way down to Corwin Street. Why is this? Anybody know? TOWN ATTORNEY DOWD: This is currently what's in the Code. This is not a change. GEORGE CAPON: I realize that, but when that was put in, I used to work for the Highway Department, and that was put on, now parking on the east side of Seventh Street, because of the Catholic School, when the buses came around Seventh Street, they couldn't make a turn. No buses came down that street since the school has been closed. I can see no parking on the east side of Seventh Street, they say from 7:00 A.M. to L~:00 P.M. from Monday to Friday, when the school is on, but I llve here pg 12 - PH on Seventh Street, we have small driveways, we have a party, or if the school have something going on nights, they park on both sides of the street. There are people who don't like to park their cars in back of the school in the parking lot, because it's not safe. It's not. ThereJs hardly any lights back there in the big parking lot, and it's dangerous to keep your car there, because it gets broken into, and things like that. I~m all in favor of no parking on Seventh Street on the east side, but I think it should be from 7:00 A.M. to ti:00 P.M. Monday to Friday. If we have something going on Saturday, or Sunday, people who live there, people who live there have no place to park. SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: Anyone else like to address the Board on this? ROD VANTUYL: Rod VanTuyl. I live at 621 Front Street on the corner of Seventh. I was under the impression that the restriction was already in effect, because there is a sign at the street that says, no parking. What is the purpose of this jurisdiction? COUNCILWOMAN OLIVA: It just updates. There is no change. COUNCILMAN TOWNSEND: It doesn't change that particular street. SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: It adds a number of other streets to the listing that's already in place. Yours is one that is already in place. Anyone else like to address the Board? Mr. Capon? GEORGE CAPON: My question is, can it be changed from 7:00 A.M. to I~:00 P.M. A lot of places is in that area, where the school session is on it can be changed from 7:00 A.M. to I~:00 P.M. ThatJs my question. Why do we have no parking there 2q hours a day, 365 days a year? That's my question. SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: parking. The Board can Board? The resolution does call for different times of no consider that, Anyone else like to address the EVELYN VANTUYL: My name is Evelyn VanTuyl. I live on the corner of Front and Seventh, and I would like to say that I just like the way it is. I hope it stays that way, because I have a neighbor that has four vehicles, one of which is a stretch llmo. I have another neighbor on the west side, that also has four vehicles, including a trailer, and our street on our side, the east side, would be just loaded with cars. MIKE FURLINGER: I'm Mike Furlinger from Mattituck. First I have to apologize for being late, but we saw the legals about Love Lane possible parking changes, and we had called Town Hall early today, and was told that it was by accident it was on the list, but I wanted to make sure that it wasn't. SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: According to the documentation we have, I~m not clear what's an accident, and what isn't. According to our documentation here, parking prohibited at all times, includes at the present time, so there's no change provision for Love Lane east side at Mattituck from the north curve line of New York Route 25 northerly for a distance of twenty pg 13 - PH feet, and on the west side of Love Lane from Pike Street north for a distance of ti0 feet, and then Love Lane on the west side from Sound Avenue northerly for a distance of 75 feet. MIKE FURLINGER: Currently, there is parking in those spots? TOWN CLERK TERRY: This is not new. SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: Currently, as we understand it, parking is prohibited at all times in those three places, that I just mentioned, and the proposal reiterates that, but it doesn't change it. MIKE FURLINGER: Okay. All of sudden about seven merchants went out on Love Lane today, matched up exactly where they're saying. There is currently parking there now. SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: There are no, no parking signs? MIKE FURLINGER: Right. There are spots there now, and you're talking about, see if I have this right. You're talking about basically the twenty feet, I don't have the exact feet in front of me, but it's in front of the octagon building? SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: But only for twenty feet from Route 25. MIKE FURLINCER: Right. That would take out two spots. Right now there are two spots there. On the west side, which is from the travel agency to the flower shop, that we have there currently, there are three spots there right now. SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: On the west side, I don~t think there is a no parking provision on the west side near to Route 25. MIKE FURLINGER: I think it's Sound Avenue, right, and Love Lane west, seventy-five feet north. If that was enforced now, that would take out three parking spaces. That would encompass the travel agency down to the beginning of the flower shop. SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: We can take a look at that. MIKE FURLINGER: We were all going to come this evening. But this is very important to us considering there are only twenty-four spots on Love Lane to lose four or five. Thank you SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: Anyone else like to address the Board on these proposals for no parking? (No response.) If not, I'll declare this hearing closed and go on to the third public hearing for the afternoon. Jud,th T.
