Judith T. Terry, Southold Town Clerk." It was published in the Suffolk
Times, and printed on the board, on the Bulletin Board. I don't have any
other correspondence.
COUNCILMAN TOWNSEND: Maybe, a note about an explanation on this
thing?
SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: Go ahead.
COUNCILMAN TOWNSEND: It was pointed out to me by the Town
Clerk's Office that in many incidences these non-resident permits were
creating a problem, because they ran from April to October, and there
was a demand for the use of the Town beaches and ramps during the
period when there was no coverage under the permit, early Spring
flounder fishing or late bass fishing, for example. The Town Clerk
pointed out, that it was causing a problem there, because people were
getting upset in that they couldn't be there legally, and I don~t know if
they got tickets.
TOWN CLERK TERRY: They did.
COUNCILMAN TOWNSEND: So, acting on that recommendation the Town
Board proposed amending the Code to read as Joe's resolution read.
SUPERVISOR WICKHAM: You've heard the Notice of the Public Hearing.
Some of you may have seen it in the papers. Would anyone like to put
some comments in the record? (No response.) Hearing none, I declare the
hearing closed.
