A Local Law in Relation to Yard Sale Permits
BE IT ENACTED, by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as follows:
Chapter 100 (Zoning) of the Code of the Town of Southold is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 100-31(C)(10)(d) (Use Regulations) ;s hereby amended to
read' as follows: .

A permit is obtained therefor from the
~nspe~or Town Clerk upon the payment of a fee
of fifteen dollars ($15.).
Section 100-31(C)(10) is amended by adding a new subsection (e)'to
read as follows:
(e)
The display permit issued by the Town Clerk shall be
posted on the premises so it can be read from the
street~ and removed before sundown on the day of the
sale.
II. This Local Law shall take effect upon its filing with the Secretary of
State.

SUPERVISOR HARRIS: This evening we have two public hearings. The first
public hearing is a "Local Law in Relation to Yard Sale Permits", and the second
of the evening is a "Local Law in Relation to Garbage, Refuse, and Rubbish". At
this time Judge Edwards will read the publication and verification of such Local
Law.
JUSTICE EDWARDS: "Public Notice is hereby given that there has been presented
to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, on the
10th day of August, 1993, a Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in Relation to Yard
Sale Permits". Notice is further given that the Town Board of the Town of Southold
will hold a public hearing on the aforesaid Local law at the Southold Town Hall,
Main Road, Southold, New York, on the 24th day of August, 1993, at 8:00 P.M.,
at which time all interested persons will be heard. This proposed "Local Law
in Relation to Yard Sale Permits" reads as follows:

amended to read as follows:

to read as follows:

of posting on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board at the Southold Town Hall. I have
a letter from the Planning Board, the Town of Southold. To Judith T. Terry, Town
Clerk, Southold, New York. Dear Mrs. Terry: The Planning Board adopted the
following report at its public meeting on August 9, 1993: Be it Resolved that the
Planning Board has reviewed this proposed amendment which will authorize the
issuance of yard sale permits by the Town Clerk instead of the Building Inspector.
The Planning Board does not have any comment to make about this proposed amend-
ment. Sincerly, Richard G. Ward, Chairman. I, also, have a letter from Gerald
Newman, Chief Planner for the County of Suffolk. Judith Terry, Town Clerk,
Town of Southold, Main Road, Southold, New York. Dear Ms. Terry: Pursuant
to the requirements of Sections A 14-14 to 23 of the Suffolk County Administrative
Code, the above referenced application which has been submitted to the Suffolk
County Planning Commission is considered to be a matter for local determination.
A decision of local determination should not be construed as eitl~er an approval
