Notice of Public Hearing on Local Law. Public Notice is hereby given that there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, on the 13th day of November, 1990, a Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in Relation to Parking Regulations". Copies of this Local law are available in the Office of the Town Clerk to any interested persons during business hours. Dated November 13, 1990. Judith T. Terry, Southold Town Clerk." I have an affidavit of publication in The Traveler Watchman, an affidavit of publication in The Suffolk Times, and notification, that it has been posted on the Town Clerk's Bulletin Board. DEPUTY SUPERVISOR PENNY: Is there anybody in the audience, that would like to comment either for or against this proposed Local Law? COUNCILWOMAN LATSON: On Section 92-42, parking prohibited during certain hours for Oaklawn Avenue. It's my understanding it will extend 550...for a distance 552 feet down both sides of the road. I'd just like it clarified, between the hours of 8:00 A.M., and 4:00 P.M. You can have fifteen minutes of parking at that time? Because there's two places on Oakiawn Avenue, where you can go in to drop off your children, or pick them up. One was the first circle area, which you can no longer go in there during school hours, and then the other area is next to the gym, and that area is all taken up by either teachers' parking spaces, or students' parking spaces. So, there's very little public parking available. TOWN CLERK TERRY: You might want to go in the back to the follow-up. There's a letter from the Chief explaining why, but it does leave fifteen minutes to park in front of the school in the event that a parent wanted to run into the school for something. COUNCILWOMAN LATSON: Okay. I see, the high school principal requested it. No one parks out there for a long time, arTyway. TOWN CLERK TERRY: They just don't want the wrong people parking there. DEPUTY SUPERVISOR PENNY: We'll close this public hearing, and go back to resolutions.
