A LOCAL LAW IN RELATION TO BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as
follows:
I. Chapter 100 (Zoning) of the Code of the Town of $outhold is
hereby amended as follows:
1. Section 100-281 A. is hereby amended to read as follows:
Applications. Every Application for a building
permit shall contain the following information and
be accompanied by the required fee and a plot plan
drawn to scale and signed by the person responsible
for each drawing. If no such plot plan is avail-
able, a survey is required, prepared by a licensed
engineer or land surveyor. In addition, plans and
specifications shall be filed with the Building
Permit Application to enable the Building Inspector
to examine such plans to ascertain if the proposed
building will comply with applicable building
construction, housing and fire codes.
II. This Local Law shall become effective upon its filing with
the Secretary of State.

SUPERVISOR HARRIS: At this time, the first public hearing of the evening will
be a "Local Law in Relation to Building Permit Applications". Ray, would you
like to read that publication notice and verification, please?
JUSTICE EDWARDS: "Public Notice is hereby given that there as been presented
to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, on the
24th day of April, 1990, a Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in Relation to Building
Permit Applications". Notice is further given that the Town Board of the Town
of Southold will hold a public hearing on the aforesaid Local Law at the Southold
Town Hall, Main Road, $outhold, New York, on the 5th day of June, 1990, at
8:00 o'clock P.M., at which time all interested persons will be heard. This proposed
"Local Law in Relation to Building Permit Applications" reads as follows:
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as follows:

amended as follows:

available, a Survey is required, prepared by a licensed
engineer or liand surveyor. In addition, plans and specifica-
tions shall be filed with the Building Permit Application to
enable the Building Inspector to examine such plans to
ascertain if the proposed building will comply with applicable
building construction, housing and fire codes.
II. This Local Law shall become effective upon its filing with the Secretary
of State.

proof that it was posted on the Bulletin Board, a letter from the County of
Suffolk: Pursuant to the requirements of Sections A 14-14 to 23 of the Suffolk
County Administrative Code, the above referenced application which has been
submitted to the Suffolk County Planning Commission is considered to be a matter
for local determination. A decision of local determination should not be construed
as either an approval or disapproval. Very truly yours, Arthur H. Kunz, Director
of Planning~ Another letter from Bennett Orlowski, Chairman. Proposed Amendment
to the Zoning Code. The Planning Board has been asked for its recommendations
on a proposed amendment to Chapter 100 - 281 A. of the Zoning Code. The
proposed change will require applicants for building permits to provide the infor-
mation that the Building Inspector needs to ascertain if the building will comply
with applicable construction, housing and fires codes. The following resolution
was adopted at the Planning Board's public meeting on May 14, 1990. WHEREAS
the legislative intent is to require all applicants to provide the information needed
by the Building InspectOr; and WHEREAS the Planning Board finds that this
change will make the Building Inspector's job easier; BE IT RESOLVED that the
Planning Board is in favor of passage of the proposed amendment. There is
no further communication.
