A large delegation of residents and property owners on Jockey Creek
was again present at~this meeting to protest the application of Hoseph
Ulrich to widen the creek, continue dock and bulkhead the shore line.
The people owning property on Jockey Creek have formed an Association
and made it very clear that they are opposed to a permit for expansion
of this area for commercial use. Opinions were heard from those present
and all were very much opposed to the issuance of this permit. The
Trustees discussed this project at great length after visiting the
area and decided to reserve decision until May 25th when Mr. Ulrich
will have a Surveyor's Map of the present and proposed plans.
Permits which were issued by the Trustees in March were signed by the
Trustees.
Application of Gerald and Margaret Peffert to dredge 300 feet in front
of their property on Jockey Creek was approved. Fee $4.00.
Application of Joseph D. Haeg to erect a dock along prolongation of
center line of private road o~ James Creek, Salt Lake V~llage, Mattituck,
was discuesed. Since a letter was received from William Wickham, attorney
for Mr. C.B.S. Mart and Julius W. Helbing of Salt Lake village, objecting
to the Board giving a permit to any persons to erect a dock or pier
off the end of Rochelle Place, a right of way, the fee of which is owned
by Mr. Mart, it was suggested that Mr. Haeg submit a letter from Mt.Mart
showing that he has no objection to this dock before this application
can be acted upon.
