It was to be noted that the application of GEORGE M. MURRAY, JR. for permission to dredge and cut out a boat basin at Fisherman's Beach, Nassau Point, was granted after inspection at the con- clusion of the the meeting on July 17, 1959, fee to be $25.00. The matter of boats blocking access to the water at the end of Minnehaha Blvd., Laughing Water, Southold, was discussed. There nave Peen numerous complaints of the abuses of this area by a few persons and the Board decided to investigate the area and its conditions at the conclusion of this meeting to decide what action should be taken. Application of BRUSHES CREEK PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOC. for permission to redredge the entrance of the creek was read. Since this is a public project to be financed equally between the Association and Southold Town, the permit was granted for the minimum fee of $1.00. Application of JOHN and BARBARA GUNTHER for permission to erect a 40 feot dock 4 feet wide extending from high water line in front of their property on the easterly side of Mattituck Creek. It was voted to approve this application only after inspection and approval by ~kx a committee of the Trustees. Fee $10.00. Application of BROADWATERS COVE ASSOCIATION (Mrs. Lillian B. Tanner) for permission to erect two stakes just to the right of Mason Drive, Cutchogue, N.Y. was read and application approved according to sketch submitted. Fee $1.00. Application of FELIX and ELEANOR TYROLER for permission to dredge meadow grass in front of their property off Mason Drive Cutcho~ue to make a sandy beach was read. Application approved .... Fee $15.00. Alsplication of MERVIN RAYNOR , E. Legion Avenue, Mattituck, for permission to dredge an area 90 feet wide by 25 feet into the gutter adjoining his property was read. It was voted to grant the application only after inspection and approval by a committee of the Trustees. Proposed fee---S25.00, if approved. Meeting of Aug. 31, 1959 Cont. 128 Application of JOHN J. O'NEILL, Fisherman's Beach, Nassau Point, Cutchogue, for a permit to build a dock paralleling the shore line 20 feet ~ long and 7 feet wide, was read. Application approved .... Fee $10.00. It was voted to notify by letter, each of the known dredging and dock building contractors who perform work in Southold Town waters, that formal applications must be submitted and approved by the Southold Town ~ Trustees before any work is performed in or on Town waters and lands adjacent thereto, in accordance with Town Ordinance effective May 18, 1959. Minutes read and approved. Alvah B. Goldsmith, Clerk Note:- Mr. Dawson and Mr. McNulty inspected and approved the application of Mervin Raynor and John and Barbara Gunther, on September 2, 1959. The Town Trustees having received numerous complaint~ inspected the area at the end of Minnehaha Boulevard where it enters the creek at Laughing Waters, Southold. It was found that a number of boats were tied across the end of the road in such a manner as to completely block the access to and from the water at this point. The Town Trustees hereby declare this area a restricted area and respectfully request the Town Board to maintain through police supervision a clear way to the Water for a width of 15 feet from the easterly boundary of Minnehaha Boulevard, along the property of Combes and to post signs advising the public of this restriction. All boats moored in the vicinity of Town Waters at this location must apply for permits for the location of stakes for the mooring of small boats so that the area may be accessible to ~ as many boats as can reasonably be moored without interference with navigation in the channel.
