A meeting of the Town Trustees was called to order at 4 P.M. on Monday , May 25, 1959, by President Emmons Dean. Present: Emmon~ Dean John McNulty Frank Dawson Philip Weiler Alvah B. Goldsmith Marion Regent Minutes of the last regular meetin and two special meetings were read for information. Mr. McNulty repDrted that he had attended a meeting at which objections were raised to the wording o~ ~e Town Ordinance with respect to the mooring of boats at the end of publid highways. It was felt that it was possible under the present wording for the Trustees to entirely close off the endso of highways. Mr. McNulty explained that it was mottthe intention of anyone in authority to close off the ends of highways but merely to regulate the mooring of boats at those locations, so as to insure free access in and out of the water by the public. A letter was read by President Dean from residents of a section on the northerly branch of Jockey Creek urging the removal of seepage into the area resulting from the dredging by Francisco and Hendrickson as the spoil area was not adequately diked. They urged clearing out this area by the County Dredge. Application of ISABEL and JOSEPH PRESTON of ~rshamomaque Creek, Englewood Colony, Southold, for permission to erect a dock 30'x3' wide off their property was read. This dock was to be a temporary dock to be taken down during the winter months and replaced in the spring. Permit granted- fee $10.00. Application of ELLIS TERRY to erect a dock 12' long and 3' wide in front of his property on north side of Jockey Creek was read. Permit granted - Fee $5.00 - because of location and small size of dock. Application was read from ALFRED LIVETT west side of Bay Avenue on Baldwin's Creek, Cutchogue, for permit to dredge an area 16'x16' of which 8' x 16' is below high water mark. Permit granted - Fee $15.00. Applications of ARTHUR JONES, SALLY NORCROSS and ~OM.WILLIAMS FOR PERMISSION FOR EACH TO DRIVE A STAKE OFF THE BULKHEAD of Park Property at the head of Town Creek were read and approved subject to inspection and discussion with Park Commissioners. Fee to be Fifty Cents ($.50) for each stake. Application of DAVID DOWD was read but action deferred pending inspection to determine if the 45' dock applied for would interfere with n~vigation in the dredged channel. Application of SIDNEY OLMSTAD was deferred pending further information as to size and location of dock. Clerk Alvah B. Goldsmith reported that hE had informed WESLEY BEDNOSKY that complaints have been received by the Town Board and the Board of Trustees relative to his piling gravel on the Town Road Property at Goldsmith's Inlet, Peconic, and his failure to open up the channel as agreed. Bednosky was told that the material must be moved and the area cleared at once. minutes read and approved. Meeting adjourned at 6 P.M. ALVAH B. Goldsmith Clerk The application of DAVID DOWD was investigated and it was found that the dock would not interfere with the navigation in the channel and the permit will so stipulate. Fee -$10.00
