A meeting of the Board of Trustees~ Town of Southol~, wes
called to order at Southold Town Clerk's Office at 4 P.M.
on Tuesday: June 26, 19~6,
Present:
Emmons Dean
John McNulty
Frank Dawson

Alvah B. Goldsmith

Mr. Cass, ~C~o~nty~ S~pt. of Highways, appeare4 before the
B~'~b-~p~-~6~i~' ih '~onnection with the filling in of
Town land west of Westphalia Ave. Bridge in Mattituck. He re-
ported that the property owners whose land adjoined the area to
the no~th w~uld want the Town to deed them the filled in land
from the present high w~ter line forming their ~outherly
boundary now~ to the newly established highway line. The County
Supt. of Highways will give us a description of each of these
areas so as to permit the Trustees to give deeds in meets and
bounds to those affected. The Board agreed to issue these deeds
s§ a consideration for the use of this area as a disposal area in
the dredging of Mattituck Creek.
A letter was received from Oscar B. Gunther requesting a copy
of Chapter 615, Laws of 189 , a~~d~d~WT%h particular re~erence
to the Town's Jurisdiction in the area of his property on Darby's
Branch ~f Mattituck Creek. This letter was to be referred to
the Town Counsel for compliance and a letter to Mr. Gunther was
to be sent explaining the action t~ken.
