A meeting of the Board of Town Trustees was called to order
at 2 P.M.. Tuesday, January 3, 19%6, at the Southold Town
Clerk's Office.
Present: Emmons Deqn
John McNult~
Frank Dawson
Alvah B. Goldsmith
Marion Winters, Sec.
Mr. De=- announced the death of our colleague, Mr. L 1~.
Tuthill and the Board was asked to bow their heads n~oment
o~nt prayer in his memory. It was regularly voted that
a suitable resolution of sympathy be drawn and included in the
minutes and a copy sent to the family of our late colleague,
Lyle F. Tuthill. Following is the letter~
Dear
Mrs.
Tuthill'At a meeting of the Town Trustees which
~as held on January 3, 1956, the following resolution was
duly adopted by a unanimous vote of the Trustees:
WHEREAS, God, in His Providence has taken from our midst
the Spirit of Lyle F. Tuthill, and
WHEREAS, Lyle F. Tuthill served the Town of Southold as its
Trustee faithfully and efficiently for a term of nine years,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Trustees of the
Town of Southold deeply mourn the passing of this associate
and friend and extend their profound sympathy to the members
of his family in their bereavement, and that when this Board
of Trustees adjoins this day, it do so out of respect to the
memory of Lyle F. Tuthill.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the members .of his

Election of Officers resulted in the following being elected~
President - E~ons Dean
Clerk - Alvah B. Goldsmith
Secretary - Marion A. Winters
Mr. Dean thanked the Board for their cooperation during the
past years and promised his best efforts during the coming year.
Minutes of the previous meetings were read for information.
The formal permit to F~derick B0ereesson-was signed by the Board.
The next meeting will be held at ~ p.m. on Tues,, Jan. ~1, 19~6.
