A Local Law in Relation to Zoning.
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Southold as follows:
I. Chapter 100 (Zoning) of the Code of the Town of Southold is
hereby amended as follows:
1. ~ 100-136 is hereby amended by adding a new subsection
"K" to read as follows:
K. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Town Board may, in
its discretion, accept an offer for dedication to the
Town, of the open space and/or common lands created by
the use of the provisions of this Article.
II. This Local Law shall take effect upon its filing with the

to Zoning." This official notice to be read by Councilwoman Cochran.

COUNCILWOt~IAN COCHRAN: "Public Notice is hereby given that there has
been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York, o~ the 6th day of September, 1988, a proposed Local Law entitled,
"A Local LaWin Relation to Zoning". Notice is further given that the Town
Board of theI Town of Southold will hold a public hearing on the aforesaid
Local Law atlthe Southold Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New York on
the 18th daYLof October, 1988, at 3:40 o'clock P.M., at which time all interested
persons will be heard. This proposed "Local Law in relation to Zoning" reads
as follows:

that it has been posted by Judith T. Terry, Town Clerk, on the Town Clerk's
Bulletin Board We have a letter from Suffolk Department of Planning, "that
it is consider~d to be a matter for local determination. A decision of local
determination should not be construed as either an approval or disapproval."

from the So~thold Town Planning Board Office, "The following action was
taken by th~ Southold Town Planning Board on Monday, October 3, 1988.
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board make a recommendation
to the Town Board to adopt the amendment pertaining to the dedication to
the Town oflopen space and/or common lands. It is the intent of the Planning
Board to allc~w for the option of using the open space for a public use such
as for well s~tes, historic sites or any other public use." Signed by Bennett
