Project Bus Stop
Neb reported that had advised the Group’s advisor, Ms. Batuello, of the Commission’s very
favorable reaction to earlier their presentation. Of five suggested sites, three were approved by
the Owners of the respective sites. The SCDPW is positive about the proposal and while
funding is available, NYSDOT approval is also required. Neb suggested that the Group appear
before the Town Board, which must be the official sponsor of any grant requests.

SEEDS
As the project has been completed, about the Town of Southold will receive between $1,000
and $1,500 as its share of the residual funds. The Town of Southampton will distribute the
funds. Southampton will also discontinue maintenance of the SEEDS website and Southold
may consider transferring Southold-related issues from that program to its Town website.
Public Requests
Signage at Laurel Lane & Peconic Bay Boulevard
A local resident has requested signage at the above intersection cautioning joggers, walkers
and bicyclists to observe traffic rules so as to avoid accidents with motor vehicles in the
roadway. Neb will check with the Town Engineer and Highways Superintendent concerning
appropriate signage.
Route 25 Crossing at Handy Pantry, Mattituck
Neb will write to NYSDOT’s East End representative requesting a study for further action at that
location due to traffic-related incidents at location. It was suggested that increased visibility of
crosswalks be considered during the impending repaving of Route 25.

Traffic Light at Route 25 & Peconic Lane, Peconic & Planning board Recommendations
Due to the recent opening of a brewery at location, Heather advised that the Planning Board will
request the Commission’s review of that traffic control issue. In the meantime, Chief Flatley

In a related issue concerning the brewery, the Commission will also be requested to review a
proposal for a second parking lot north of the brewery to accommodate buses, vans and limos.

A letter of May 16, 2014 to the Supervisor from the President of the Board of Trustees of the
New Suffolk Common School District concerning the above issue has been referred to the
