A Local Law in Relation to Wetlands
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of $outhold as
follows:
I. Chapter 97 (Wetlands) of the code of the Town of Southuld is
amended as follows:
Section 97-13 is amended by deleting the word
"sounds" from the definitio~ "Tidal Waters".
II. This Local Law shall take effect upon it~ filing w~th
the secreta~f of State.

SUPERVISOR MURPHY: This is a hearing on a proposed "Local Law in Relation
to Wetlands", to be read by Councilwomen Cochran.
COUNCILWOMAN COCHRAN:"Public Notice is hereby given that there has been
presented to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New
York, on the 18th day of April, 1888, a Local Law entitled, "A Local Law in
Relation to Wetlands." Notice is further given the Town Board of the Town
of SouthoId will hold a public hearing on the aforesaid Local Law at the Southold
Town Hail, Main Road, Southold, New York, on the 3rd day of' May, 1988, at
8:08 o'clock P_M_, at which time all interested persons will be heard. This pro-
posed "Local Law in Relation to Wetlands" reads as follows:

1- Chapter 97 (Wetlands) of the Code of the Town of Southold is amended a~
follows:
1. Section 97-13 is amended by deleting the words "sound~II from the defini-

SUPERVISOR MURPHY: Thank you~ Jean. Youlve heard the reading on the
proposed Local Law concerning Wetlands. Is there anyone here that would like
addre~ the Town Board? (No response) Anyone on the Town Board would
like to make a comment?
COUNCILWOMAN OLIVe; : I think people are a little confused why they're
doing that. Actually it's to give the ZBA jurisdiction on the bluffs, rather
than the trustees. That's why we're taking that word out, ~o they have it
from the edge bluff. That's basically it. Just to clarify the code.
