The SIM The Romantics,a zeitgeist love story and generational comedy,takes place over the course of one night at a deluxe seaside wedding. In the vein of The Big Chill and St.Elmo's Fire,seven close friends—all members of a tight,eclectic college clique—reconvene to watch two of their own tie the knot. Laura is maid of honor to Lila,her golden girl best friend. The two have long rivaled over the groom,Tom. The love triangle comes to a head the night before the wedding when the drunken friends frolic in the nearby surf and return to shore without the groom. The film was written and will be directed by Galt Niederhoffer,from her novel of the same name. Filmine Locations We will be filming largely on private property in Southold,NY and will be renting various facilities within Southold periodically for use as shooting locations as well as support space and catering halls. Shooting Schedule We are scheduled to film from Monday,November 2nd—Friday, December 4th. We will be working a Monday thru Friday schedule and generally keep long hours,beginning our mornings quite early and sometimes shooting well into the night. Again,our filming will take place on private property and should not pose any inconvenience to the community. Equipment:&Crew In regards to staffing, our crew will probably number about 60-70. Our equipment is very standard: light stands, sandbags, a sound cart, a video monitor cart, bounce boards, cables, silks and screens. On any given day there can be more specialized pieces of equipment, like a dolly track or jib arm. PrgduRdon'Vehicles Our trucking will consist of approximately three to four equipment trucks in addition to personal vehicles and storage PODS. All trucks and Storage PODS will be parked in accordance with Southold rules and regulations and approved by the town and Police. For the majority of the shoot, trucks and personal vehicles will be situated at the south end of BAY HOME ROAD in SOUTHOLD. These trucks will be parked overnight, with permission both from the town of Southold and the police. Traffic lanes will be maintained and traffic will flow freely at all times. Insurance&Permits We are a fully insured company and will be working with the cooperation of all local and regional authorities. We are currently scouting for a tennis court location for the film. The scene we would film consist of four actors playing a set of doubles on the court talking about one of their weddings which is to happen the following day. The groom-to-be leaves the court and walks across a golf course, on his way back to his house. Filming will take place over the course of one day between October 26th and November 25th. We are a fully insured company and will be working with the cooperation of all local and regional authorities. Our cast and crew consist of approximately 70 people. We will have approximately four to five equipment trucks in addition to personal vehicles. The Romantics, a zeitgeist love story and generational comedy,takes place over the course of one night at a deluxe seaside wedding. In the vein of The Big Chill and St. Elmo's Fire, seven close friends—all members of a tight, eclectic college clique— reconvene to watch two of their own tie the knot. Laura is maid of honor to Lila, her golden girl best friend. The two have long rivaled over the groom, Tom. The love triangle comes to a head the night before the wedding when the drunken friends frolic in the nearby surf and return to shore without the groom.
