My property adjoins Steve Mitchell's property to the west. Steve and I have talked about his plans several times and it sounds like he will build a shingled house with a design, except for its size, that will be consistent with other houses in the neighborhood. I received a fed ex notice from Ray Nemschick's office letting me know that a package had been shipped on Friday, June 13 for delivery by 8:00 pm on June 16. The town code requires that this notice should have been postmarked no later than June 10th or 8 days prior to the hearing. A prior travel commitment that makes it impossible for me to attend the June 18 trustees' meeting also means that I will not see the package from the architect with the required site plan before the hearing either. I would like following general questions raised at the meeting. 1. Are there any exceptions to the code requirements for setbacks, floor area ratio to lot size, or height restrictions requested in this application? The lot is less than an acre in an R-80 zoning area. 2. What will be the impact on the water table given the roof area, household water, automated irrigation system, and septic systems of a dwelling that would be in the range of 7,000-8,000 square feet and how is this impact being taken into account in the plans? 3. Where will noisy utilities such as air conditioning compressors and backup generators be located? 4. Are there plans to build a paved driveway or other impermeable surfaces such as patios; and, if so, how will the runoff be contained? Today, I tried several times to fax the attached PDF "Mitchell Trustee Hearing" to 631-765-6641. The messages I received back on my fax were "No Answer" and later "phone off hook." Since I am traveling to rural New Hampshire beginning this evening and will be unable to attend the June 18th hearing on Stephen Mitchell's request for a wetlands permit in person, I am sending my comments by email in the PDF "Mitchell Trustee Hearing" and asking my daughter to fax them from her office tomorrow morning. If she is not successful, I hope this email will be sufficient.
