Dear Mr. Panchak:
In response to your letter of July 3rd relative to the irregularities
in the Sand Mix Asphalt Bid, please be advised that after the bid opening,
when reviewing the bids, I discovered that Paul Corazzini & Sons had
included their bid for the Sand Mix in the same envelope with their bid
on the Asphalt Concrete Annual Contract bid, and failed to included a
second bid check. A further review disclosed that Corazzini was the
lowest bidder.
This matter was discussed with our Town Attorney who advised that
it would be in the best interests of the Town of Southold to rebid the Sand
Mix Asphalt.
