Does anybody wish to comment in £a~or of this proposed Local Law on the traffic ordinance? Judge Edwards. JUSTICE EDWARDS: I'd like to comment on the Fishers Island traffic ordinance. This was at a request of the people of Fishers Island to put a No Parking Sign on a bad bad.corner and they have been observing ~he signs that were put'up there and this will now make it legal. Thank you. SUPERVISOR PELL: Thank you, Judge. Anybody else wish to comment on the proposed two traffic' changes? (No response.) In opposition to it? (No response.) Anybody wish to comment at all? COUNCIL~IN NICKLES: I'd like to just add--the Judge got his two cents in--that the Loca~ Law that inv~ves Youngs Avenue is. part of a traffic scheme that members.of the Town Board and the Chief of Police have been working on wherein at John's Supermarket, the Main Street Supermarket, we are trying to have the only access into.the parking lot from Route 25, and egress out onto Youngs Avenue~ The concept there is to provide No Parking from the corner down to the exit f~om the supermarket so it wil~ create a r~ght-hand turn lane onto Route 25 eastbound. Hopefully it will relieve that congestion .and the hazard of people leaving ~he Main Street parking ~0t o~t onto Route 25.
