OFFICE OF THE TOWN CLERK
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
September 11 , 1992
Dear Scott:
Whereas Jim Bunchuck and I have been working on adding a couple
of provisions to the specifications for the Removal and Disposal of
Household Hazard Wastes for the 1993 Bid, I was required to advise him
today that you determined that it is not necessary to go to bid for that
item, or for the sale of scrap tires for 1993.
Jim has brought to my attention that the Town pays a great many
thousands of dollars for the removal of the hazardous waste throughout the
year, and also must pay for the removal of the scrap tires (also plastic,
which you removed from the bid list last year) .
I know you have a determination concerning recyclables, but I wonder
if you think it might be a good idea to check into the hazardous was/tend
scrap tires since we must pay. (I only bring this to your atn
because we were required by the State auditors to go to bid forja small
item like milk for the Nutrition Center a few years ago.
Please advise. Thank you.
