The extent of empliance was observed with respect to statutory restrictions for the deposit, segregation and use of moneys for specific purposes, and statutory roquirements for the issuance of receipts where no other evidence satisfactory for purposes of audit was: available. Financial Records As of Doomber 31, 1967 the balance sheets for the ferry operation and for the alrtisld and theatre operation each included $200.00 in the special cash funds which had been advanced for change fids in the 1963 and the 1966 yews In each yews howevear, the moneys advanced had keen returned but had been recorded as revenue. GhM ftnd On October 19, 1968 the change fund of the ferry "Mystic Isle" me in oxmws of the recorded amount of the fund. The records indicated that the erieml, fund. of $200.00 had been reduced $62.27 because of a theft in 1934. Information obtained during prior examinations indicated that $62.27: personal fids of the purser, had boon added to the cash to provide working cash of $200.00. Personal funds should not be ccsmingled with district funds. If an increase in the change fUM is required for efficient operation of the terry tho board of 0—iSsiensrs* with the approval sof the toter board, should increase the fund by official action.
