• Comprehensive Plan Update
o Public information meetings in each hamlet on the importance of land use and
zoning to quality of life in preparation for the Land Use Chapter.
■ Greater Greenport. May 10. Nine people attended.
■ Peconic. May 12. Three people attended.
■ Mattituck & Laurel. May 17. Fifteen people attended.
■ Southold. May 22. Twenty-five people attended.

o Information-gathering forum for real estate agents regarding their experiences
with buyers of commercial property to help us determine whether there are
businesses trying to land in Southold that cannot, and if so, if the reason was
related to land use or zoning regulations. May 29. Thirty-five people attended.
• Suffolk County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Completed Southold's part of the plan together
with Lloyd Reisenberg and Jamie Richter.
• Submitted Final Paperwork and Final Voucher in the amount of$28,054.36 for zoning
work on Plum Island with $14,027 to be reimbursed to the Town under the Planning and
Development of Town of Southold Code Revisions project(EPF LWRP Grant
C006789).
• Stormwater Management in the Town of Southold Phase II project(EPF LWRP Grant
C006878)—Requested and received an extension of grant to re-align $66,623 in state
funding to construct storm water controls in the swale off Mill Rd in Mattituck.
• New Town Code - Solar Power. Worked with Town Attorney in drafting new town code
permitting solar power facilities,prepared Planning analysis to support the new code and
conducted the environmental review(SEQR) for the local law.
• Phragmites Eradication Project. Drafted Request for Proposals, work plan and received
NYSDEC permit for phragmited eradication at Soundview Preserve.
• Drafted a list of potential zoning tools to preserve buildings owned by religious
institutions and met with Landmark Preservation Commissions to discuss.
