HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/2014 TOWN OF SOUTHOLD RECREATION DEPARTMENT p MONTHLY REPORT: MAY 2014 2014 SUMMER EMPLOYEE INTERVIEWS: were held at the recreation center on Thursday, May 1 & Thursday, May 8 for beach attendants and lifeguard positions. Many employees were returning from last year, so very few positions were available. 2014 SUMMER BROCHURE: The brochure was an insert in the May 15 edition of The Suffolk Times. Registration began on Thursday, May 15th and brochures were brought to all 4 local libraries, the Human Resource Center, Town Hall, and local supermarkets and delis. All activities, programs, and bus trips were also listed on our website. Our thanks goes out to Lloyd Reisenberg for his continued help. 2014 SUMMER EMPLOYEE BEACH MANUAL: has been updated and e-mailed to returning employees. New employees will receive a printed copy. CPR MANIKIN DECONTAMINATION: In preparation for the upcoming CPR recertification program for town lifeguards, I thoroughly washed, soaked in bleach, and wiped dry 25 adult & 25 infant CPR manikins. SEASONAL EMPLOYEE ACCOUNTING PAPERWORK: was mailed out to all seasonal employees (lifeguards, beach attendants, beach managers, water safety instructors, and our lifeguard trainers) The packet included a town application, and the following forms: W-4; I-9; IT-2104; retirement system forms; employee information; personal health history; and the acknowledgment of receipt of employee handbook. BEACH PREPARATION: First aid supplies, lifeguard equipment, etc. are all being inventoried and ordered if needed for the summer season. Numerous meetings and training sessions have also been scheduled for summer personnel. Applications to receive permits to operate all six of our beaches were submitted to the Suffolk County Department of Health and we already received said permits. They will be prominently posted at our six beaches. SUFFOLK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH NEW REGULATION: I received an information packet from the SCDOH regarding beach rules and regulations. One new regulation that caught my eye is as follows: Distracted Lifeguards Please be aware that the SCDHS inspectors have been instructed to issue public health hazard violations if lifeguards are found texting, using an electronic device, reading or engaging in any other distracting activities while they are supposed to be providing direct supervision of bathers. There will be zero tolerance for such violations and they will carry a fine up to $585 per occurrence. Should any lifeguard found to be in violation of this policy by either a staff member of The Suffolk County Department of Health or the Town of Southold, their job will be most likely be immediately terminated. TRAINING & STAFF MEETINGS: Numerous meetings and certification programs have been set up as follows: AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD TRAINING RECERTIFICATION COURSE Session A: Session B: Thursday, June 12 Monday, June 16 (Rain Date: (Rain Date: Monday, 6123) Thursday, 6119) 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Southold Town Beach Southold Town Beach Route 48, Southold Route 48, Southold CPR RECERTIFICATION Session A: Thursday, June 5 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Session B: Tuesday, June 10 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Session C: Tuesday, June 17 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN & LYME DISEASE TRAINING Wednesday, June 18 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Southold Town Recreation Center STAFF MEETING Wednesday, June 18 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Southold Town Recreation Center Respectfully Submitted, Ken Reeves Recreation Supervisor `1 ZONAL, BANK The bapokyou can talk teo," http://www.bridgenb.com Town of Southold Recreation Department Balances as of 08:53:19 AM EDT on 06/09/2014 —A Available $60,827.88 Date Last 06/06/2014 Balance: Deposit: 0o Doo Closing $62,184.88 Current $62,271.88 Ledger: Balance: 0o Doo Date Last 12/09/2013 Last $58,083.88 Check: Statement Balance: 0o Doo Date Last 05/30/2014 Interest $9.14 Statement: Earned YTD: 0o Doo Total Float: $1,944.00 Days 0 Overdrawn: 0o Doo Interest .08% Interest $25.35 Paid Last Rate: Year: 000431264398881 [05/02/2014] PAYMENTECH POS $95.00 [$37,"501.53 TRANS 000431264398881 05/03/2014 PAYMENTECH POS $528.00 $38,029.53 TRANS 000431264398881 [05/13/20 14 PAYMENTECH POS $45.00 $38,074.53 TRANS 05 ......................... /14/2014 DEPOSIT ......... .................... $347 00 ..,.,.$38°,.42.,.,;53.,.,.,., 05/16/2014 DEPOSIT $565 00 $38,986.53 05/16/2014 DEPOSIT $990 00 $39,976.53 05/16/2014 DEPOSIT $1 070 00 $41,046.53 05/16/2014 DEPOSIT $1 320 00 $42,366.53 000431264398881 05/16/2014 PAYMENTECH POS $2,344.00 $44,710.53 TRANS 000431264398881 05/17/2014 PAYMENTECH POS F$1,412.00 [$46,_1 22.53 TRANS 05.... ....... ......, /20/2014 DEPOSIT ......... 05/20/2014 DEPOSIT $1 127 00 $48,267.53 00043126439888 1 05/20/2014 PAYMENTECH POS $1,515.00 $49,782.53 TRANS 000431264398881 =05/21/2014 PAYMENTECH POS $692.00 $50,474.53 TRANS . .................................................................... ........... 05/22/2.0....4.....................................IF E.P..S.T.....---7 ,,,,,,,,, , -r---.
