A regular meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to
order at 1:30 P.M. by President Alvah B. Goldsmith at the Town
Clerk Office on December 29, 1964 with the following present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, Frank Dawson, George Simpson, Philip Weiler
and Marion Regent, Secretary.
The information requested of C. Edward Nelson regarding the num-
ber of cu. yds. of spoil to be removed in front of his property
in Deep Hole Creek was received. The fee of $14.76 was establish-
ed and the application of October 26, 1964 was granted.
A letter was received from the Planning Board requesting the Town
Trustees to establish a pier and bulkhead line on man-made canals.
the Trustees have requested a joint meeting of the"Planning Board
and the Town Trustees for a discussion on the contemplated change
in rules and regulations in coneection with man-made canals.
Application of Walter and Josephine Galazzi to install a floating
dock in the canal extending from Gull Pond, Greenport, N.Y. was
discussed in detail by the Trustees. It was decided to withhold
action on this application pending decision of the Planning Board
in connection with man-made canals.

Plans for dredging James Creek and Deep Hole Creek and the pre-
liminary plans for Broadwaters Cove were received as requested
by the Town Trustees from the Department of Public Works.
A letter sent to the Town Trustees by Paul Stoutenburgh from
the Fish and Wildlife Service regarding wetlands was read and
discussed.
An application was received from the Mattituck Park District to
install new bulkhead and floating docks at the north end of
Love Lane, Mattituck, owned by the Park District. Since this
is in the public interest it was voted to grant the permit for
the minimum legal fee of $1.00.
The application of Lawrence M. Tuthill for Jules R. Gimbernat,
Jr. to build a dock and set four mooring piles in Howards Creek,
Mattituck, was discussed. Since the diagram was not complete
in certain details, it was requested that Mr. Tuthill make a
more descriptive diagram.
