BID SPECIFICATIONS Page 2 BRAKES: Service brakes shall be 2-wheel, wet disk type, sealed and fully enclosed to allow operation in water, . mud, snow and other adverse conditions without encountering brake fade. Service brakes shall be self-adjusting; self-equalizing; and service brake engagement shall be all-hydraulic. The parking/secondary brake system shall be independent of service brakes and be of sufficient design to hold weight of machine on slope. BACKHOE: Bucket shall be heavy duty with a minimum of 30 inches, with a capacity of 11.1 cubic feet, and shall include 5 high penetration, and lift hooks. SAE J31 minimum backhoe lifting capacity of 5, 900 lbs to 14 foot lift height through the entire 180° swing arc. Minimum backhoe bucket cylinder digging force of 13, 000 lbs. Loading height with extendable dipperstick, truck loading position: retracted 12' 11" ; extended 15' 0" . BID SPECIFICATIONS Page 3 EXTENDABLE DIPPERSTICR: Extendable dipperstick shall have a minimum extension of 5 feet. A minimum of 155° bucket rotation shall be maintained to help decrease bucket spillage during truck loading operations, with . lifting eye on backhoe arm. COOLING SYSTEM: Pressurized liquid cooling system with thermostat. Radiator shall be filled with manufacturer' s approved anti-freeze solution that provides protection to at least -30°F. ELECTRICAL: Batteries shall have a minimum reserve capacity rating of 180 minutes. Alternator shall be a minimum of 78 amps. Unit shall have a minimum of (2 ) front halogen work/driving lights, (1) combination stop/tail light, and a lighted instrument panel. STANDARD INSTRUMENTATION: Unit shall have dash mounted gauges and/or monitoring system that will include: transmission temperature, engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, parking brake engagement, hydraulic filter restriction, fuel, alternator, and electric hour meter. Engine coolant temperature and engine oil pressure system shall include audible and visual warning. CAB: Cab shall be SAE ROPS/FOPS certified. Fully enclosed cab shall be isolation mounted and include seat belt, front defroster fan, heater, front and rear windshield wipers, tinted safety glass, latched windows, and lockable cab door. Must also include additional lighting package of: (2 ) rear halogen work lights, (2 ) front and (2 ) rear turn and flashing lights, ( 2 ) stop lights, (1 ) tail light, dome light. Single or dual entry cab doors shall open within the width of the machine to avoid opening into traffic lanes for improved operator safety. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Unit shall be equipped with all standard equipment and shall include: key ignition switch with safety start, hand and foot throttle, horn, cold weather starting aid, dry-type air cleaner and restriction indicator, muffler, lockable engine side shields, reverse warning alarm and SMV emblem, engine fuel filter, mounting steps and safety hand holds, backhoe boom transport locks, and rotary beacon. ' 43ID SPECIFICATIONS Page 4 WARRANTY: Manufacturer' s warranty shall be a minimum of sixty (60) months on entire machine. MANUALS: Successful bidder shall provide (2) copies of Operator' s Manual and (2) copies of current parts and repair manuals.
