NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with the provisions of Section
103 of the General Municipal Law, that sealed bids are sought by the Town of
Southold for the following for fiscal year 1992: The purchase of 1/2 pints of
Homogenized Pasteurized whole milk, 160 - 1 /2 pints a day, more or less as
may be needed, - 250 days a year, delivered to the Southold Town Nutrition
Center, Sixth Street, Greenport, New York. Specifications may be obtained
at the Office of the Town Clerk, Town of Southold, Town Hall, 53095 Main
Road, Sodsthold, New York 11971 .
The sealed bids, together with a non-collusive bid certificate, will be
received by the Town Clerk at the Southold Town Hall, until 11 :00 a.m.,
Thursday, November 14, 1991, at which time they will be opened and read
aloud in public. The Town Board of the Town of Southold reserves the right
to reject any and all bids and waive any and all informality in any bid should
it be deemed in the best interest of the Town of Southold to do so.
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked "Bid on

SPECIFICATIONS
HOMOGENIZED PASTEURIZED WHOLE MILK
! . Approximately 160 half pints of Homogenized Pasteurized Whole Milk, delivered
daily for 250 days to the Southold Town Nutrition Center, St. Agnes Hall,
Sixth Street, Greenport, New York, during fiscal year 1992.
2. Delivered to the Nutrition Center refrigerator between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
as required during the year. Contractor shall agree to pick up and credit
unused milk.
3. Milk shall be delivered in paper containers meeting the sanitary requirements
of health laws.
4. The Town of Southold accepts no responsibility for loss of or breakage to
containers, cases or baskets.
5. All milk supplies shall contain not less than 3.5 butter fat by test and must
be from sources approved by the State and/or County Health Department.
Bidder must hold a regular permit from the Health Officer covering the grades
to be supplied and a license as required by the State Department of Agriculture
and Markets.
6. The Town of Southold reserves the right to cancel the contract if, in the
judgment of the Town Board, the milk is deficient in butter fat or is received
in an unsanitary condition.
7. All milk cases delivered to the Nutrition Center will be subject to a per case
surcharge. All milk cases made available to a delivery person at any time shall
be credited against such surcharge account. The surcharge account balance,
debit or credit, will be issued in conjunction with each monthly billing for milk
and milk products. Should a delivery person fail to remove from the premises
any or all cases made available by the Nutrition Center, in no event later than
the next delivery, such cases will be credited as returned and become the
financial and physical responsibility of the milk dealer.
