OLD BUSINESS
Merle announces that she had written a letter stating the purpose of the ABTF in dealing
with issues of bias, but was not able to print it.
A letter of thanks is read from the Morris family acknowledging the ABTF for their kind
actions during their time of loss.
ERASE RACISM:
They have lost a lot of funding from the Ford Foundation which makes their coming to
train us more difficult. We need to raise funds. ABTF will speak with the town to see if
they will earmark funds.

given in Memory of Frank LePre from the MLK celebration. Greenport -2 copies -Cindy

POLICE:

NEW BUSINESS:
0 Scholarship find/ thought for utilization of funds.
• Leroy reports that each School has a SADD (Students Against Destructive
Decisions). The North Fork Alliance recently had a gathering including schools
and business leaders. Although Cindy was present we want to make sure that this
organization knows how we support their mission as it coordinates with ours and
look forward to coordinating our efforts to work with the community in raising
awareness and being active in the prevention of destructive decisions. There is a
suggestion that the ABTF write a letter to the leadership of this organization to
acknowledge their work. (Cindy will do so)
• We have lost a member Peter Bell who passed away recently. The ABTF will
contact his wife to see if she would be willing to let us honor his memory.
• Direct fundraising for funds is prohibited without special conditions as of March
2014 for town committees. Monetary gifts must be reported to the board. We will
make every effort to be in compliance.
• There is a new website that allows kids to say whatever they want anonymously.
This is definitely eyber-bullying. A child attempted suicide as a result.
There is a motion to adjourn at 11:35 made by Marjorie. Val seconds all are in favor.
Meeting dismissed.
Next meeting will be April 21 at town hall at 10 am.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cynthia A Smith
