Box 1179 Southold, NY 11971 Re: Certificate of Occupancy for SCTM No. 1000-009.000-06.00-005.005 Dear Mike: There are apparently two Certificates of Occupancy for the referenced premises: a pre-existing CO (No. Z9438) for a single-family dwelling and a CO (No. Z17484) that covers, among other things, a "8 x 8" deck. Although there is a garage shown on the survey that was used to obtain the pre-CO, it is now in a different location on the property. Also, the new survey shows that the deck is 8'x 16' raher than 8'x 8'. David Olsen, who represented the purchaser of the property earlier this year, told me that he had spoken to you about this property and that you had determined a variance was previously granted to move the garage to its current location. It was also my understanding that you would require only the submission of a CO application and the required fee to issue a CO for the garage. Would you please let me know how I should proceed to secure a CO for the garage and the 8' x 16' deck? Should I make separate applications and pay separate fees?
