A meeting of the Town Trustees was called to order by
President Emmons Dean at ~ P.M. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1955.

is to be returned for further detailed description of
the area involved and the disposal of the dredged materials.
A general discussion of the future problems that might
arise f~r the decisions of the Board of Trustees was
held. It was the concensus of opinion that a long range
program be devised and enacted with the cooperation of
the Town Bosrd.

Since the %~.a claims Jurisdiction over all creeks amd inlets we
the following recm-,er~ations to the Town Trustees when granting permits~
BULE~EADS
1 - All bulkheads be kept 4 tO 6 Ft. back of average high water line
2 - On straight shore lines where a bulkhead already exists, permits
should be granted only to continue b,,l~besd~ of same general
construction and height and at the same distance from average h~gh
water lines
3- On irregular shc~e lines permits should be granted only to fnllow
general shere line at the distance provided fer in 1~o.1.
4 - Any requests fer permits fc~ bulkheads Jutting out at any angle
to now existing adjoining bulkheads c~ extending nearer to er below
average high water line should be given only after the written
l~lssion of the three adjoining p~operty owners on either side of
the property owner seeking a permit.
EXplanation - a s~ructure supp~A-ted by spiles which a man can pass
under at low tide.
1 - ~.~t lengths up to 75 i~, and width up to 6 Ft. being sure that '
any requests under consideration will not block a natural channel.

Explanation - when 2 cr 3 apiles are put down and tied together to
prevent raising by ice they shall be considered as one spile,

Any permit to fill up behind a bulkhead brings m~re water into a creek
er ~nlot which is an advantage to all concerned,
Permits should only be granted f~r contour dredging which will not
change existing average high water lines - an ~rample cf the
beautiful sh~re line obtained can be seen on the former Roon property.
Pile up dredging should only be permitted on breaker bars er where
the operation will be a benefit to all sh~re line propert~ ~vners '- an
examplo of this type can be seen on properties o~ned by Hill and
Hendrickson which would take a hurricane tide to give it a natural
contour and then most of it would wash back intending to fill up any
~her place already dredged.
