A regular meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was held at the Town
Clerk Office, Southold, New York, on Monday, December 7, 1970, at
7:30 P.M. with the following present: President Alvah B. Goldsmith,
Frank Dawson, George Simpson, John F. McNulty and Douglas Robertson,
and Marion Regent, Sec.
The minutes of the meeting of November 9, 1970, were read and approved.
Harold Baldwin of Mattituck, N.Y. met with the Trustees to explain
his application to fill property in James Creek by dredging. After
discussion, the Trustees decided to discuas the application with the
Planning Board before making a decision.
Dr. Joseph J. Lizewski appeared before the Board to describe his
application to excavate 20' x 15' to a depth of 3'6"~'to moor his
boat in Moose Cove, Cutchogue, N.Y. in front of his property. The
application was granted. Fee $10.00.
Application of Edward Hallahan, Holbrook Lane, Mattituck, N.Y. to
stake a float 56' x 6' in Howard Creek was read. Since the float is
to be placed in front of the property of Harold F. Weggeland and a
letter of approval accompanied the application, the permit was
granted on a temporary basis, Fee $28.00.
Application of Ronald J. Lajda, Eastwood Drive, Cutchogue, N.Y. to
place a stake in Richmond Cree~ Peconic, off Indian Neck Lane was
read. Mr. Lajda had discussed the location of the stake with Mrs.
Knowles, near whose property it is , and she felt sure there would be
not objection to the location. Permit granted. $1.00 paid.
A letter of application accompanied by a map of the area was received
from the Department of Public Works, Yaphank, in relation to proposed
dredging in West Harbor~ Fishers Island. AAletter was sent to the
Department of Public Works stating that the Trustees had no objection
to the proposed work.
