A regular meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was held at the Town Clerk Office, Southold, on Monday, April 6, 1970, at 7:30 P.M. with the following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, Frank Dawson, John F. McNulty, Douglas Robert- son and Marion Regent, Secretary. A letter was received from ~r. Carmelo J. Tavormina, comp~ini~g<~that clam diqqers were digging trenches on the shore, above and below high water mark, causing the creek to gradually fill in. A letter was sent to the Supervisor requesting him to have the Bay Constable, William Januick, investigate this complaint. A letter of invitation was received by the Trustees to appear as speakers at the meeting of the North Fork Taxpayers Association on May 6, 1970. The Trustees agreed that they would be happy to meet with the Taxpayers Association in the early fall, but it would be impossible for them to do so in May. A letter was written to Mr. Gillispie to this effect. Application of Donald DeLallaf Bay Avenue, Cutchogue, N.Y. to bulkhead an area 50' x 1' and dredge 6-8' in Baldwin Creek, Cutchogue, was read and approved. Bulkhead $15.50, dredging $8.00 Total $25.50. Application of James Homan and William Baxter, Jr.. Fisherman's Beach, Nassau Point, Cutchogue, N.Y. to bulkhead 100' x 18' and dredge 6' x 8' in basin only in Broadwaters Cove was read and approved. Fee - Bulkhead-S25.00, dredging-S4.00 - Total $28.00. Application of Norman N. Bergen, Oakwo~d Drive, Southold, to moor raft and connect with shore by ramp in Goose Creek, ~outhold, was read and approved. Fee $6.00. Application of Burton Mason, Lupton's Point, Mattituck, to build a dock 60' x 5' in Deep Hole Creek, Mattituck, was approved, providing that it does not encroach on dredged channel or interfere with navigation. Fee $30.00. Application of Edward Dennis and Jacob Mollick, West View Drive, Mattituck, to build a dock 70' x 3' in Mattituck Inlet was approved providing it does not encroach on dredged channel or interfere with navigation. Fee $35.00. Applications of Lefferts P. Edson, Esq., Grace Edson and Opal Akscin, Southold, N.Y. to dredge 100' each (300') by 25' in width to a depth of not more than 3' at mean low water, in Jockey Creek in front of their respective properties adjoining each other, were approved, all in accordance with the applications submitted. In view of the fact that the dredging is &ll on the owner's properties, a flat fee of $10.00 each is charged. Total $30.00. Application of Curtis Tabor~ Orient, N.Y. to place a stake for one boat in Orient Creek in front of property owned by John B. Tuthill%~,was approved by the Town Trustees and Mr. Tuthill.
