HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-11/08/1971111 TOWN TRUSTEES Meeting of November 8, 1971 The Southold Town Trustees met at the Town Clerks Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, on Monday, November 8, 1971, at 7:30 P.M., with the following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman, John F. McNulty, Douglas M. Robertson, George A. Simpson, and Judith T. Boken, Secretary. The Board signed the following approved permits: ~685 '(Stake No. 285)-David O'Brien; ~686 (4 Stakes-No. 286)-William F. & Alysse E. Johnston; ~687-Charles A. King; ~688-James F. King. An application was received from Robert D. and Luella G. Boyd, Midwood Road, Cutchogue, New York, for permission to bulkhead 89.22 feet and dredge for fill at their property on the corner of Smith Drive North and Williams Road, Southold, New York. The Board will investigate the site. An application was received from Joseph L. Turchiano, 2160 E. 36th Street, Brooklyn, New York, requesting permission to build a ramp, 2 pilings, and floating dock on his property at 450 Deep Hole Drive, Deep Hole Creek, Mattituck, New York. On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED that Joseph L. Turchiano, 2160 E. 36th Street, Brooklyn, New York, be granted permission to build a 20 ft. ramp, 2 pilings, and a 3 ft. by 20 ft. floating dock on his property at 450 Deep Hole Drive, Deep Hole Creek, Mattituck, New Yonk, all in accord- ance with the application submitted. Fee $22.00. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. An application was received from Mr. Louis Gaynor, 1 Joseph Lane, Bethpage, New York, requesting permission to bulkhead and dredge on his property at Wiggins Lane, Gull Pond Channel, Greenport, New York. After examining the application, it was determined by the Board that Mr. Gaynor~ property does not front on Town owned land (Gull Pond cha~nel into Fmrdham Acres, Section I and II is privately owned dredged channel],and therefore is outside the jurisdiction ~>~ of the Board of Town Trustees. The Board again reviewed the application of Rudolph Koubek, 24 Champlin Avenue, East Islip, New York, requesting permission to build a 12 ft. dock and to dredge at his property on Eugene's Creek, Cutchogue, New York. The Secretary was instructed to send 112 Mr. Koubek a letter stating that the Board believes his land to be wetlands and dredging and filling same would not be permitted. However, if he would make application for an open walkway with either a floating or pilin9 dock, the Board would look favorably upon such a request. The Board discussed the application of Bayview Development Corporation requesting permission to build floating docks with fingers forming slips, bulkhead and fill to contain erosion on Corey Creek, Southold, New York. Whereas the Planning Board and Board of Appeals have given their approval to the proposed project, On motion of Mr.' Robertson, seconded by Mr. McNulty, it was RESOLVED that Bayview Development CorporatioJ, Victoria Motel and Cottages, Bayview Road, Southold, New York, be granted permission to build floating docks: 1- 119 ft. dock, 1- 153 ft. dock, 2- 48 ft. docks, and 4- 15 ft. docks, with 21 pilings, bulkhead on their own property, and dredge to backfill 100 cu. yds., all in accordance with the application submitted. Fee $194.00. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. On motion of Mr. McNulty, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Southold Town Board of Town Trustees held October 4, 1971 be approved as submitted. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. On Motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board of Town Trustees will be held 7:30 P.M., Monday, December 6, 1971 at the Town Clerk's Office, Main Road, Southold, New York. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. The Secretary was instructed to forward a letter to Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker requesting that he examine the permit form of the Trustees and revise same to provide individual sections for docks, stakes, bulkheads, dredging, etc. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
