HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-10/04/1971108 TOWN TRUSTEES Meetinq of October 4, 1971 The Southold Town Board of Town Trustees met at the Town Clerk's Office, Main Road, Southold, New York, on Monday, October 4, 1971, at 7:30 P.M., with thc following present: Allah B. Goldsmith, Chairman, John F. McNulty, Frank S. Dawson, Douglas M. Robertson, George A. Simpson, and Judith T. Boken, Secretary. - The Board signed the following approved permits: ~8~ (Stake No. 2~3)-Fre~ Melin; ~682-LeRoy DeMott; ~683 (2 Stakes No. 284)-Philip R. & Jeanne P. Marriner; ~684-Howard G. Meinke. Mr. Richard J. Caplan and Mr. Jensen of the Bayview Development Corp., Southold, New York, appeared before the.Board to discuss their application to install a floating dock with bulkheaded land- fall, as a modification of Permit. No. 285 of William & Regina G. Victoria, former owners of the Victoria Motel & Cottages. Mr. Caplan and Mr. Jensen stated that it is their intention to install the docks for the private use of their guests and there would be no question of a marina. Since there is a letter in the Victoria file from the Planning Board withholding any permits on the property in question, the Board of Trustees declined making a decision on the present application until a reply has been received from the Planning Board regarding the status of the property. Mr. Victoria had solved his problems with the Town Trustees however, and a decision is expected in the near future on the Bayview Development Corp. application. A new application was received from William Dansker, Wells Road, Peconic, New York, requesting permission to dredge 400 yards to repair erosion and cover swamp area at Richmond Creek. The Board will investigate the site. After investigation and inspection, on motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Dawson, it was RESOLVED that David O'Brien, Jennings Road, Southold, New York, be granted permission to place a boat mooring at the end of Gilbert Street in Jockey Creek, Southold, New York, all in accordance with the application submitted. Fee $1.00 paid. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. 109 After investigation and inspection, on motion of Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. McNulty, it was RESOLVED that William F. and Aiysse E. Johnston, 8 Larkspur Drive, West Islip, New York, be granted permission to install a floating dock 6 ft. by 10 ft. with 4 posts at Lot 19, and extend existing bulkhead 40 ft. plus 46 ft. return to permit access to Lots 17, 18, and 19 at the north end of Ha~waters Road, on Haywaters Cove, Fisherman's Beach, Nassau Point, Cutchogue, New York, all in accordance with the application submitted. Fee $33.50. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. After investigation and inspection, on motion of Mr. Dawson, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED that Charles A. Kinq, Mill Road, Mattituck, New Yon~ be granted permission to rebuild and widen existing dock to 28 ft. long by 10 ft. wide, and bulkhead 70 ft. along Mattituck Creek, Mill Road, Mattituck, New York, all in accordance with the appli- cation submitted. Fee $31.50. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. After investigation and inspection, on motion of Mr. McNulty, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED that James F. Kinq, Mill Road, Mattituck, New York, be granted permission to bulkhead 230 ft. across his property on Mattituck Creek, Mill Road, Mattituck, New York, all in accordance with the application submitted. Fee $57.50. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. On motion of Mr. Dawson, seconded by Mr. McNulty, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting~of the Board of Town Trustees held September 20, 1971, be approved as submitted. Vote of the ~oard: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Simpson, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board of Trustees will be held 7:30 P.M., Monday, November 8, 1971 at the Town Clerk's Office, Main Road, Southold, New York. 110 Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. McNulty, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Simpson. The Board discussed the wording contained in the Permit forms and feel a revision may be in order, and a study will be undertaken in the near future. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
