HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-07/30/1962 MEETING OF JULY 30, 1962. A regular meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at 4 P.M. July 30, 1962 at the Southold Town Clerk's Office. Present: Emmons Dean, Philip Weiler, John McNulty, Frank Dawson, Alvah Goldsmith and Marion Regent. A group from the Laughing Water Association appeared to request permission to erect a number of stakes around the property of the Association for the use of their own members. The property adjacent to the stakes is owned by the Association, having been deeded to them by Cedric Wickham. Those appearing were Mr. Birch, Mr. Boedecker, Mr. Byrnes, Mr Alfred Bitz and R. G. Terry, Jr. Application of Mr. John H. Molito~ for permit to dredge and erect a bulkhead across the front of his property on Osprey Nest Road, East Marion, 100 ft. with an additional 10 ft. at right angles to be turned over to the Town of Southold was approved. Fee $25.00. Applications of MrU Abrahams and Mr. Ralph Tuthill, Jr. for permits to erect stakes west of Mattituck Park Property were approved, fee 50¢ each., stakes to be located by Mattituck Harbor Master. Application of Laughing Water Property Owners for permission to install 31 stakes i~ediately in front of the two properties owned by the Association was approved. Fee $15.50. A letter was read from the Commissioner of Public Works relative to taking over the Town Property east of Westphalia Avehue, Mattituck, for the Highway extension. It was resolved that this Board advise the Commissioner that they would be glad to turn over the necessary strip of this property to accomodate the highway requirements to the County for a nominal sum, but would want to reserve the remainder of the property for the Town. It was voted to request the Town Counsel to draft the resolution and accompanying letter to the Commissioner. Application of Edward Pellettieri for permission to erect a stake in Pipes Cove was approved providing it is located in the Cove and not in the Bay proper, in which case the Board has no jurisdiction. Fee 50¢. Application of Dr. James D'Wolf to erect a stake in Town Creek was approved. Fee 50¢. Goose Neck Property Owners Association application to dredge and ~-~ade in front of their property to make a beach was approved. Fee $15.00. Application of Marie Reckhart for permit to erect a boat stake in Hallock's Bay ~ was approved. Fee 50¢. Application of Edwin King showing completed Marina was laid on the table pending the action of the Zoning Board. Mr. K~ng was advised Meeting of July 30, 1962, cont. by this Board of Town Trustees that a complete plan of ~e pro- posed work would be required before this Board could act. This information was given to Mr. King on Jan. 2, 1962. No action has been possible by this Board because of Mr. King's failure to comply with the regulations of the Town Trustees. Application of Joseph Polywoda to set eel fikes was laid on the table pending investigation. Application of William M. Beehe and others for permission to dredge a canal through their property on Eugene's Creek 1000 feet long and 35 feet wide was approved. Fee $10.00. Application of Community Tollewood for permission to erect a dock and float at the foot of Illinois Avenue, Mat~ituck, was approved subject to investigation of the area by a committee of the Bc~rd.
