Mr. Alem Bondarchuk and Mr. Charles ~, Ray~l.e? appeared before
the Beard to discuss the town mooring at Narrow River, Long
Beach Bay, 0rient~ N.Y. At present the Town issues 20 mooring
permits for this ~rea for which the applicant is give~ priority
for the same stake each year. Mr. Bondarchuk questioned the
Board as to the feasibility of the Town installing fleating
"TJ, dbeks to provide additiona~ mooring space. Mr. Bondarchuk
presented the Ch~irmam with his own drawing of such a possible
floating dock. Mr. Godlsmith advised him that the Board would
present the idea to the Town Board to see if something could
be done to this effect, Mr. Goldsmith suggested the possibility
of a grant being secured to cover the cost of the floats and
it could be paid off by the revenues collected for the use of
the floats. Mr. GoldSmith asked them to give the Board a month
to work on this. Mr. Januick will be advised that they are
working on it.
Mr. B°~darchuk and-Mr. Raynor q~/estioned the Board as to the
procedure being used to remove bo~s from this area which do
not have permits. Mr. Goldsmith stated that letters were sent
to the owners of the boats who do not have permits $o moor
them a~ Narrow River. They wen~d be given 5-10 days to respond.
If they d~d not respond to the letter at the end of the time
period, then their boat would be taken up to the Town Highway
Dept. and the owner would have to claim it there.
Mr. Frederick A~ Cantrell appeared before the Board regarding
his application to rebuild existing boat slip to stop erosion
by the use of bulkhead.
