HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-03/08/1976p.196 MIN~UTES BOARD OF SOUTHOLD TOWN TRUSTEES Meeting of March..8, 1976 A regular meeting of the Board of Southold Town'Trustees was held at 7:30 P.M., Monday, March 8, 1976, at the Town Board meeting room, 16 South Street, Greenport, New york, with the following preslent: Alvah B. Goldsmith, Chairman Douglas M. Robertson Philip G. Horton Joseph Hataier Betty Neville, Secretary Absent: GeorgeC. Bird Also present: William.Terry & Paul Stoutenberg-North Fork Environmental Council; Robert Rink!in-L.I. Traveler; Ronnie Wacker-Suffolk Times; Lawrence Tuthil!. On motion by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED that John Lowery, 650 ~0ak Street, Southold, N.Y. be /GRANTED permission to construct dock 40'×4', ramp 4'x4', and float 12'x8'' at Goose creek, directly in front of his property off Oak Street, Southold, N.Y., all in accordauce with the detailed specifications as presented in the originating application. Fee $27.20 Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr~ Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Hataier. On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was RESOLVED that the Board of Southold Town Trustees take no action on the application of A.B. Rosenberg for proDosed maintenance dredging Dt Sterling Creek, Greenport unti!..Such time as the Southold Town Board of Appeals dete'rmin.es exactly what legal rights he has under the operation of this non-conforming marina~ The Board is of the opinion that they do not have enough facts to make an equitable and justifiable decision at this time. They strongly suggest that Mr. Rosenberg take this matter up with the Board of Appeals so that his legal rights can be cleared. Vote of the Board: Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Hataier. Mr. Goldsmith abstained from voting. On motion of Mr. Goldsmith, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED that the application of John J. Hughes, Jr., 575 Da~n iDrive, P.O. Box 377, East Marion, N.Y. be TABLED for further ~investigation and inspection of the property to determine and verify exact location and distances. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Hataier~ Mr. Hughes to confer with Mr. Koch and Mr. Guiderman of the Cleaves Point Property Owners Association regarding the location of the mooring. p. 197 On motion of Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it was RESOLVED that the application of Noel J.~Lutkowski, Inlet Lane, Greenport, N.Y. be TABLED fur further investigation and inspection of the property to determine and verify exact location and distances. --/~.~ute of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Hataier. On motion by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED that Philip R. Martinet, Box 449 Sailo~'s Needle Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be GRANTED permission to place offshore mushroom mooring (150 lb~ w/ 120ft. ½" chain) in James Creek directly in ~fromt of his property at Sailor's Needle Road, Mattituck, N..¥., all in accordance with the detailed s~ecificationsas presenter in the originating application. Fee $5.00 Vote of the BoarB: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Mataier. On motion by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, .it was RESOLVF~D that ~oseph C. Cornell, Waterview Drive, Southotd, N.Y. be GRANTED permission to construct catwalk 30'x3~ smd float 18'x5' directly in front of ~ property at Goose Creek, off Waterview Drive, Southold, N.Y., all in accordance with the detailed specifications as presented in the originating application, Fee $18.00 Vote of the Board: Ayes: Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Horton, Mr. Hataier. On motion by Mr.~Horton, seconded by Mr. Hataier, it~was RESOLVED that the application of Leonard Walters, 2900 StillWater Avenue, Cutchogue, N.Y. be TABLED for receipt of further information and better measurements. Johnston appeared be£ore the Trustees in regard to his applications for:- l~bulkheading 2. dredging and~filli~g~ at Haywater Cdve, Fishermans Be~ch, Cutchogue, N.Y. Lawrence Tuthilt represented Mr. Johnston as~the engineer for this project. /Mrs. Nicol representing the Fleets Neck ~Prop. Owners Assoc. and Paul Stoutenberg representing theNorth Fork Envirooammtal Council questioned~the purposes off'these applications. A lengthly discussion was held regarding the ~les and boundaries of this property. Case, President of the Nassau Point Property Owners Association regarding the blockage of the channel at Haywater ~Cove. The channel was blocked due to a "let go'[!~of a bulkhead which was built on the cornwe~!property by Dr. Thcs. Samuels~ It was suggested that Bill'Ja~Uick be icont~cted~and!~aSked to ~ stake out the'~annel. ~Mr. Januick to Contact M~. It consists of~lomgi~di~al-horizontal ~me~al rods with spears on the~end, the~eight of the dredge carries i~down into the mud. This dredgegreat!y, disturbs the botto~of the~ereek. It, is a cause for great concern and should be looked into. The Board was presented with a plan for proposed marina of Capt, Howard Peterson, W/S Mattituck Inlet, off Naug!esDrive, Mattituck, N.Y. t~ansmitted to them by the Planning Board and~questioning if ther.~e~e ever any permits for pilings issued on-this property. The SeCretary was instructed to check the records on this matter.
