MEETING MINUTES
Friday, October 11, 2013
Present: Phillip Beltz, Special Projects Coordinator, Karen McLaughlin, Human
Services Director, John Cushman, Comptroller, Jeff Standish, Director of Public Works,
Peter Harris, Superintendent of Highways, James Bunchuck, Solid Waste Coordinator,
Jay Lewandowski, Wright Risk Management, Lloyd Reisenberg, Network & Systems

Sharps Disposal Policy
Jim Bunchuck and Karen McLaughlin will continue to research and present a policy for
review at the next meeting.
Little Green Buttons-Network Based Panic Button Policy
Network based panic buttons have been deployed on 60 desk tops. Lloyd Reisenberg
indicated that the meeting hall deployment isn't working because there is no work
station. It was suggested to set up a work station underneath the dais, however it would
have to be started and shutdown every day. There will be a future discussion to consider
alert buttons similar to medical alert buttons.
The current alarm system(s) capacity and costs are currently being researched and
should be completed by November. The goal is to standardize all alarms systems and
make recommendation to the Town Board.
2013 Mandatory Training:
There were 188 employees that participated in the training. There are a total of 10
employees from Fishers Island and 9 on the mainland that still need training. Jay
Lewandowski will provide us with the DVD training session from another municipality for
those who require additional training.

Wright Risk Management Workers Compensation Underwriting Survey Findings
All related findings have been resolved. John Cushman is sending a formal response.
MSDS Training 2013
Jay Lewandowski updated the committee on the new safety data sheets. (Global
Harmonization) to be implemented in 2014.
Related Injuries/Supervisor Accident Investigation Report
A copy of a work-related accident investigation report was provided through September
2013. Concern expressed regarding accident at Landfill that could possibly be attributed
to personal issues. Committee suggested that Jim Bunchuck consult with Town
Attorney, Martin Finnegan. Jay Lewandowski suggested "incident analysis training" for
employees with numerous claims/incidents.
