55.
A meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was held at the To~n Clerk Office
on Monday, November 18, 1968, at 7:30 P.M. with the foll~ing present:
Alvah B. Goldsmith, President, Frank Dawson~d George Simpson.
Since there waa not a quorum the Trustees discussed the problems on
hand and signed permits issued at the previous meeting.
An application received ~y the Corps of Engineers from Robert Kopple
for a Department of the Army permit to construct a timber jetty in
Southold B~y was discussed. The Trustees object to this project because
of the interference to navigation and a potential cause of shallowing
of the adjacent areas, particularly with creek channels dredged by
the Town and County. A copy of the letter sent to the Engineers is
attached.
ApplicaTion of Charles ~agen, Southold, N.Y, t o dredge meadow grass
and cover the fill with top soil in front of his property in
Goose Creek was approved after investigation by the Trustees. Fee $

shoaling of the ares to an extent that would block
these channels end further interfere with navigation
end the public enjoyment of the srea.
