HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-08/19/1968MEETING OF AUGUST 19, 1968 The Southold Town Trustees met a~ the Town Clerk's Office, Southold, N.Y. on Monday, August 19, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. with the following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, George Simpson, Frank Dawson, John McNulty and Marion Regent, Sec. Mr. Robertson was absent. Mr. Robert J. Kolyer submitted an application to dig a channel in the marshland from Corey's Cree~, Southold, 240' lmng and 50' wide. Permit granted. Fee $10.00. Permits to install stakes for the applications were granted: Peter Boqovic-Oaklawn Ave.~xt.-Southold-Goose Creek- one stake. Harry Hicks-Orient Harbor-Orient-one stake. Robert E. VanMeter-Corey Creek-Laughing Water-one stake. John J. Delaney-Goose Creek-Gagen's Landing Rd.-one stake. Roman Pawlik-mill Creek- one stake. O. Stanley Eldredqe Jr. -Richmond Creek-Peconic-Robinson La.-one stake Rita Pascua applied for stakes in West Lake, Cedar Beach, Southold, N.Y. A letter was sent inquiring how many stakes she wanted to install. Westbur¥ Equipment Co., Inc. applied to the Trustees for a permit to dredge a channel and bulkhead portal at Pipe's Cove and Pipe's Neck Creek. Since this is a project most of which is on private property, the Trustees turned it over to the Planning Board. Application of Arthur J. Smith to construct a bulkhead 80' long including two (2) returns in Mill Creek, Southold, was submitted. The Trustees were favorably inclined toward issuing the permit but required more information as to the length of the returns on the bulkhea~ below high water mark, whether or not there would be any dredging and where the fill would be placed. In answer to a letter for this information, Mr. Smith called by phone and said the length of the returns were, A~ 6' to 7' at high water and there would be no dredging. The fill is to~rought in by truck. Application of Edwin Kinq to dredge a channel in the east of Little Bay, Orient, was submitted. In view of the fact that this proposed dredging appears to be on Mr. King's own property, the Trustees waved objection to the project. Application of Howard L. We~ls, Shore Acres, Mattituck, to extend an exist- ing dock with a ramp and float in Mattituck Inlet was granted. Fee $27.00. Application of Lester and Ann Seaman, Beebe Drive, Cutchogue, to dredge an area at sho~line of property 45' x 25' in East Creek (a/k/a/ Eugene's Creek) was granted. Fee $10.00. Application of William and Ellen L~ng, Southold, N.Y. to install a dock and float and one piling in Jockey Creek in front of~heir property on Wells ~ve., Southold was granted. Fee $34.50. Meeting of Aug. 19, 1968, Con't. 51 Application of Charles Wittmer, South Harbor Rd., Southold, to install two stakes in Richmond Creek, Southold, at the end of South Harbor Rd. was turned over to William Januick, Bay Constable, to check and see if there is room for any more boats in that area. Application of Joan L. Grohoski, Waterview Drive, Southold, N.Y. to place two floating docks in front of her property on Goose Creek 20' x 5' was granted. Fee $20.00. Application to dredge waterfront in the same area 75' x 60-70' was granted, Fee minimum $10.00. Application of Felix and Eleanor Tyroler, Cutchogue, N.Y. to construct a marina 20' x 20' in the Narrow, Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, was granted. Fee $20.00. Application of Alvin Smith, New Suffolk A~e., Mattituck, to construct a dock 10' x 3' and 10' jetties in Hall Creek was granted. Fee $10.00. Application of Alfred P. Cook, to install new bulkhead 3' east in front of present bulkhead leaving old bulkhead as is for additional support in Mattituck Creek was granted. The Bulkhead is to start at the Town bulkhead and extend north. Fee $25.00. Application of William B. Johnson, Haywaters Road, Cutchogue, N.Y. to bulkhead and dredge 160' in length and 1' in width in Haywaters Cove, Nassau Point, was examined and discussed with D. E. Samuels, President, James H. Rambo, Inc. They propose to fill and bulkhead according to application to reclaim land lost by erosi~ and protect existing property and buildings. The Trustees reserved decision but decided if the infor- mation at hand is born out by further search of records they would ~ei~n favor of the project. Adjournment. ~ ~' ~ Marion A. Regent, Sec.V
