Goldsmith, Frank Dawson, John F. McNulty, George Simpson, Douglas Robertson and Marion R~gent, Secretary. A delegation of people from Goose Bay Civic Association, Inc. attended the meeting to discuss the problem of mooring boats in the creek off the beach commonly owned by all residents of the Association. Mr. Frank Hundley, Sec-Treas. of the Association, gave several suggestions which might help solve the problem, including 1) Give Goose Bay Civic Association, InC. the right to erect a mooring dock at the end of Cedar Avenue for the use of possibly 10 boats if the membership agrees to the expense. 2) Give the Association an opportunity to come up with a recommendation for location of moorings. 3) Establish a maximum length of boat for which on shore mooring per- mits will be issued. A letter was sent to the Association in relation to the requests suggested by Mr. Hundley with the following comments: 1) Request for approval for mooring dock at the foot of Cedar Avenue cannot be granted since it is our understanding that Cedar Avenue is a public road and the erection of a dock such as you suggest would interfere with the public use of this road end. 2) The Board would be appreciative of the recommendation of the Assoc- iation as to the location of moorings in front of the Association owned lands. 3) The Board would be interested in a suggestion by the Association as to the maximum length of boats that might be moored on these location~ WHEREAS, God, in His Providence, has taken from our midst Philip Weiler,~ and WHEREAS, Philip Weiler had served the Town of Southold as a Trustee for several years, .. -T~LERE~O~F~BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Trustees deeply mourn the pass- ing of our good friend and fellow townsman, and extend their profound bereavement, and that ~hen the Board adjourns this day, it do so out of respect to the memory of Philip Weiler, and be it further RESOLVED: That a donation be sent to the Floyd Memorial Library, Gre~nport, N.Y. in memory of Philip Weiler from the Board of Trustees of the Town of Southold, and be it further RESOLVED: That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the members of his family and a copy be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and become a part of the public records of the Town of Southold. Mr. Goldsmith pointed out that since the property now belongs to the whole town and can be used by the people in the Town for launching boats, etc. it would seem unfair to limit the use of this property to the people in the Mattituck Park District. Mr. Reeves had assured the Board that the use of this area would be strictly limited to the Mattituck Park District. Mr. Goldsmith will discuss the matter with the Town Attorney.
