The Southold Town Trustees held their regular monthly meeting on Monday,
February 5, 1968, at 7:30 P.Mo at the Town Clerk Office, with the
following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, Frank Dawson, John F. McNulty,
George Simpson, Douglas Robertson and Marion Regent, Sec.
M~nutes of the meeting of January 15, 1968 were read and approved.
Permi%s issued at this meeting were signed by the Trustees.
Mr. Frank Zeleski appeared before the Trustees in relation to his
application of November 16, 1967, to dredge in Deep Hole Creek, Mattit-
uck. After discussion, the Trustees suggested the application be sent
to the Planning Board for it's recommendation and report.
The following letter was sent to Mr. William Beebe in reference to an
agreement for payment of fill from Eugene Creek:
"The Southold Town Trustees, at their recent meeting, discussed the
fact that the agreement they had with you for payment of the fill
deposited on the land on the easterly side of Eugene Creek has never
been completed.
Would you please confirm the amount of fill used and compute the
payment on the basis of .04 per cubic yard, Thank you for your coop-
eration.''
A letter was received from Lefferts Edson, Esq. in reference to an
application of Steve and Daniel Mitacchione. Since this application
had been referred to the Planning Board in November 1966 and the
Trustees were advised against issuing a permit for dredging a canal
leading to Broadwaters Cove, a letter was sent to Mr. Edson together
with the copy of the letter from the Planning Board informing him
that the Trustees felt that in view of the peculiar circumstances
of the property concerned in this application that it was not in the
province of the Town Trustees to issue a dredging permit.
