SPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 17, 1963. ~
A~ecial meeting of the Board of TOwn Trustees was held at 1 P.M.
Tuesday, September 17, 1963, at the Town Clerk Office, Southold, N.Y.

The B~,~ inspected the property on the easterly side of
Brushes Creek entrance as a result of complaints received by
Owners of property adjoining Brushes Creek, that dikes and
breakwaters had been erected along the channel by Mr. Frank
Fulcher and that these were causing the dredged creek channel
to fill in. The Board decided to get more information as to
this situation before making a decision.
After inspecting the above proper~y the Board convened at the
Town Clerk's Office at 2 P.M.
Mr. Julius Fiedler appeared to complain about the actions of Mr.
Otto Meir, that said Otto Meir had installed railways and refused
permission for people to pass across the beach below high water
mark,in front of his property on Sterling Basin. Mr. Fiedler was
advised that the TOWn Trustees had no jurisdiction over lands under
water in Sterling Basin; and that his complaints about signs should
be taken up with the zoning Board.
The Board received a letter from WllliamWickham, attorney for
Mr. C.B.S.Marr and Julius W. Helbin$ of salt Lake Village, Matt-
ituck, N.Y. objecting to the Board giving a permit to any persons
to erect a dock or pier off the end of Rochelle Place, a right of
way, the fee of which is Owned by Mr. Marr.
The application of Charlotte S. O'Keefe for permission to erect a
retaining wall and jetty in front of her property on Deep Hole
Creek, Mattituck, N.Y. was approved. Fee $10.00.
Application of Carl Distonfeld for permission to dredge in front
of his property and in front of the property owned by Mr. C.B.S.
Mart in James Creek, Mattituck, was received. Action was deferred
pending receipt by the Board of a letter of approval of this
dredging from Mr. Mart which can be filed with the application
before further consideration is given.
Application of ,~,rvin~ W. Sc~aef, Sr. and wife for permission
to clean and dredge beach in front of property on Jockey Creek
was received. It was not possible from the application to locate
the property so the Board could take no action until further
information was obtained as to location and consent of adjoining
property owners is obtained.
