A regular monthly meeting of the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at 4 P.M. by President Emmons Dean at the Southold Town Clerk Office, on Monday July 29, 1963. Present: Emmons Dean Frank Dawson John F. McNulty Alvah Goldsmith Marion Regent Previously approved permits were signed by the Trustees. Mr. Lloyd Hamilton appeared before the Board to explain an objection that has been raised to his having his stakes put in in accordance with his permit. Mr. McNulty diselualified himself as a Park Commissioner of the Mattituck Park District as being an interested party. The Board decided to investigate before making a final decision. Objection of Mr. Valentine Ruch for residents of Mill Creek, Englewood colony to work recently performed by Helmut Haas was reported by the Clerk. Mr. Ruch requested copies of application and permit granted to Mr. Haas. The Board agreed to investigate the recent work which has been performed by Mr. Haas and to check the encroachment claimed by Mr. Ruch. Application of Jacob and Anna Kooperstein for permission to grade the area in front of their property on Jockey Creek was approved subject to_ consent of adjoining property owners. Fee $15.00. Application of Florence C. Boeckel for approval of floating dock previously installed by former ownerwas received. The Board is apprec- iative of the cooperation shown by the applicant and will discuss the matter with Town Counsel to determine the proper action to legalize the dock to the new owner. It was thought that the time of construction of the_.f.a~i~i~y %hgqld be_d~ter~i~ed, ~nd by whom it~ done. Applications of Mr. Willard Vanderbeck~nd Edward J. Ba~enski for per- mission to erect bulkheads and dredge in front of their respective prop- erties on Minnehaha Boulevard, Laughing Water, Southold, were approved. Fee $25.00 each. ($50.00) Application of Charlotte O'Keefe, Deep Hole Drive, Mattituck, N.Y. for permission to erect retaining wall and jetties was received and dis- cussed. The sketch indicates that the requested improvements are all above high water mark. The Board agreed to advise Mrs. O'Keefe that no permit would be required under the circumstances. However, if any of the jetties were to extend further out than high water mark a permit would be required. The Board will investigate the situation in the near future. Irene Davis application for stake, Mattituck Creek, approved by Mattituck Harbor Master approved. Fee .50 paid. Howard W. Raynor, application for 2 stakes on Town leased land on Hallock's Bay, Orient, off Narrow River Rd., approved. Fee $~.00 paid. Minutes read and approved. Adjournment 5:40 PM A k
