HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-03/29/1964MARCH 29, 1964 A regular meeting ~[ the Southold Town Trustees was called to order at 1:30 P.M. at the Southold Town Clerk's Office on March 29, 1964. Present: Emmon s Detain Philip weiler Frank Dawson John McNulty Alvah Goldsmith Marion Regent A large delegation of residents and property ownere.on Jockey Creek was present at this meeting, concerned with Mr. Joe. Ulrich's application. Mr. Lademann presented an additional petition in protest to this project. Mr. Ulrich presented petitions approving of his plan and spoke in justification of his proposal. Mr. Vail and Mr. Pollert. spoke in protest. Mr. Raymond Terry Jr. spoke and asked Mr. Ulrich if he would have made the proposed application had not Mrs. Terry had the dredging done in front of her property. Mr. Offner addressed the Board to inquire the total mumber of boats the proposed facilities would provide . Mr. Ulrich stated that he proposed accomodations for 100 boats. Mr. Lademann addressed Mr. Ulrich to state that the original layout of his property was known to be to sell building lots. Mrs. Anne Kooperstein spoke of the additional pollution that this project would cause. Mr. James Rich addressed the Board to protest ~ the additional traffic ~ this project would create and would be a menace to life, health and property. Mr. Stephen Campbell spoke in opposition - suggesting that additional facilities be provided eleewhere. Mr. carl Vai,1 suggested that the Board consider an ordinance to regulate the taking of clams, and the time of year when such digging might be restricted. Application of John Hingle and Roland Hin~le for stakes in Richmond Creek at the end of Wells Rd. approved , 2 stakes each ~ $1.00 each. Application of Harold R. Reeve Jr. for title to land pumped in front of his property in Mattituck creek with description thereof was r~ ceived. It was suggested that Mr. Reeve have the necessary Quitclaim Deed drawn and submitted for signature of the Board together with agreements with adjoining property owners as to the boundaries of the filled area as described. Application of william A. and sara~ E. Mathis for permission to erect a walk-ramp and floating dock in front of their property on Mill Creek was received. The total length below highwater mark of this project is 48' (16' Dock -16'Ramp -16'Float) ~ .50 per ft. Fee $24.00. March 29, 1964 Cont. Application of Robert Fried for permission to dredge 500 cu. yards of marsh in front of his property and install a 40' float was received. Application approved. Fee $20.00 for 500 cu. yd. ~.04 per cu. yd. and $20.00 for float ~ .50 per ft. Total $40.00 The Bcflrd considered the application of Mr. Ulrich for permission to dredge and erect bulkheads and extend docks at his location at the westerly end of Jockey Creek and considered the objections thereto. The Board voted on advice of Town Counsel to require from Mr. Ulrich an engineer's drawing showing a. Boundaries of his property at the time of his acquisition thereof b. The changes and structures made subsequent to that time, and c. The accurate scaled plan of the proposed changes, with particular reference to proposed bulkhead lines, proposed docks and the cubic yards of dredging to be done. The President appointed Mr. John McNulty and Mr. Frank Dawson to investigate the property of Mr. Frank Fulcher on Brushes Creek to determine what action, if any, ~eshasi~taken to comply with the order of the Town Trustees and report their findings to the Supervisor.
