HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-08/01/1966MEETING OF AUGUST 1, 1966 page 13. The Southold Town Trustees met at the Town Clerk Office at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, August 1, 1966 with the following present: Alvah B. Goldsmith, President, George Simpson, John F. McNulty, Douglas Robertson, Frank Dawson and Marion A. Regent, Secretary. Also present was Mr. Rambo and a delegation of seven from Orient. Mr. Rambo explained the application of Harold Olsen for a bulkhead and permission to dredge for fill, length of proposed work approximately 100' ~ .25 - $25.00 and 150 yards to be excavated ~ .04 $6.00 making a total fee of $31.00. (Hall's Creek, Cutchogue, L.I.) A delegation of seven residents from Orient attended the meeting to discuss and hear the decision on the application of the Oyster Ponds Rod and Gun Club for county dredging in Narrow River to provide improved channel and harbor. After discussion on the application, the Trustees assured the people present that no action of any kind would be taken for or against said application until extensive study is made by the Trustees. A letter was received from Gordon J. Case, president of Brower's Woods Association, Inc. protesting the $50.00 fee for the privilege of build- ing a walkout ramp into Mattituck Inlet. A letter was sent to the Assoc- iation explaining that a scale of fees for dredging, bulkheading, docks, etc. had been established at the request of the State Auditors several years ago and that since that time everyone was charged according to this scale, and the Trustees felt that they could not grant any except- ions to this rule. Application of Grant and Dorothy Hallock of 560 Oak Street, Cutchogue, to place a float and ramp 21' long and 4' wide in Eugene Creek was granted. Fee $12.50. Application of Charles J. and Frieda Kanka of Beebe Drive and Fawn Lane, East Cutchogue, to dredge in Eugene's Creek 75' x 25' for private use was studied. It was decided that this project should be reviewed and approved by the Planning Board before permission%.,was granted by the Trustees. Application of Michael Schulmm of Knollwood Road, Mattituck, to build a dock and install a floating dock 80' x 4' in Mattituck Inlet was granted subject to stipulation that the floating dock will not encroach on dredged channel. Fee $40.00. Application of C. Edmonds Allen of Reeve Ave., Mattituck, to rebuild a small dock 12' x 45" in James Creek was granted subject to stipulation that this dock will not encroach upon dredged channel. Fee $6.00. Application of Charles V. and Sophie Raynor of 323 Champlin Place, Greenport, to place one stake in Narrow River, Orient and one stake in Sterling Creek, Greenport, was approved. Fee $1.00 paid. Application of William G. Norris, 2775 Pine Neck Road, Southold, to place place a stake in Jockey Creek was granted. Fee 50¢ paid. Application of John B. Tuthill, Orient, N~Y. to drive a stake for a boat and build a 10' dock in Orient Creek was approved. Fee $5.50. Application of Elia E. Lizza and Carl Lizza of Naugles Road, Mattituck, to construct a bulkhead 200' long and dredge the creek bottom accord- ing to plans submitted and attached to application was granted. Bulkhead-S100.00, Fi11-$200.00, Total $300.00. A letter was sent to Mr. Edward J. Conlon explaining that quit claim deeds were granted to upland owners for filled land around Mattituck Creek which had been deposited by the county dredge in the Mattituck Dredging Project. An amended map for dredging was received from Bleecker Construction Company, Inc. for dredging a channel in Budd's Pond in connection with the subdivision "Willow Point". Inasmuch as it resulted in no increase in the amount of fill to be moved, it was accepted as submitted. Adjournment was at 4:30 P.M. Southold Town Trustees
