HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-01/26/1966Meeting of January 26, 1966. The Southold Town Trustees met at the Town Clerk Office on Wednesday, January 26, 1966, at 1:00 P.M. Present: Alvah B. Goldsmith George Simpson John F. McNulty Douglas Robertson Frank Dawson Marion Regent, Secretary Also present were Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, Mr. R. M. Kammerer and Mr. Barney Evans from the County Department of Public Works.a~!! The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the plan of operations in the dredging of Broadwaters Cove, Mud Creek and East Creek, with special reference to the spoil areas. After full discussion, the Town Trustees unanimously reaffirmed their decision published in local papers by paid notices last November and voted that the project should proceed as originally authorized. In the light of present circumstances as applied to this area, it would seem to be in the public interest to defer action on any suggested changes in the plan until the results of the present authorized operation can be observed. Application of James T. Young was discussed as a result of Mr. McNulty investigating the area in James Creek where Mr. Young applied for a stake. The Board decided that unless Mr. Young can obtain permission from the adjoining property owners inasmuch as Salt Lake Drive is a privately owned road, this permit would have £to be denied. Application from F. S. Rosenberg & Ano. was received for dredging in Sterling Creek, Greenport. sudging.frQm the sketch submitted, this operation would not come Under the jurisdiction of the Southold Town Trustees and therefore, the Trustees waved objection to the project. Application was received from Lawrence W. Tuthill for John G. Hansen, M.D. to construct a dock, set mooring piles and dredge in Jockey Creek. After dTscussion, application was approved all in accordance with the application submitted. Fee $26.00. Application of Ed T. Hoebic~ of Oaklawn Avenue Extension and clearview Ave., Southold, to place a stake for a boat mooring in Goose Creek at the end of Gagen's Landing Road was approved. Fee 50¢. A Notice was put in the Traveler and the Suffolk Weekly Times informing the public that the Town Trustees unanimously reaffirmed their decision that the project of dredging in Broadwaters Cove, Mud Creek and East Creek should proceed as originally authorized. Notices were sent to each individual who personally wrote to the Town Trustees concerning this dredging project. Adjournment. Marion A. Regent, Sec.
