HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-02/01/1977February~ 1977 p.239 A regular meeting of the Board o£ Town Trustees was held at Z:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 1977, at the Town Board Meeting Room, Superviso?s O££ice, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, with the following present: A!vah B. Goldsmith, Chairman Douglas M. Robertson Joseph Hataier George Bird Philip Horton Chairm~ Goldsmith called the meeting ~o order at 7:40 p.m.. William H. Tschirhart, Esq., appeared be£ore the board on behalf o£ Mary X. Trock who o~s.property on Mattituck Creek. The Corps o£ Eugimeers dredged the creek and deposited spoil here and ~ncreased the property. A quitclaim deed is necessary to clear tlae title. The adjoining property formerly owned by Armbrust has bsen quitclaimed by the To~ o£ Southold in 1968. On motion made by M~. Horton, seconded by Mr. Robertson, it was RESOLVED that a quitclaim deed be executed for the filled area adjoining the-upland of the property of Mary K. Trock, as presented by the attorney for the applicant. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton. Joseph M. Cornacchia - application for offshore mooring. The matter was tabled for further information from Mr. Cornacchia. The Board will need a more accurate placing of the mooring and a determination as to where he~willxgain access. If~it is off private property, he will need permission of the owners. Horton would like to be contacted by Mr. Cornacchia about this matter° The Board requested that out-of-town addresses and telephone n~mbers be shown on future applications. BenOamin J. Kowatski-1- applicatiOn for offshore stake. This matter was tabled pending information from Mr. Kowalski as to the owner of the property off Which he wishes to place his stake. If it 'is private property or an association for the~use o£ property ova~ers in the vicinity, he will need written per--mission of the owner. On motion made by Fir. Hataier, seconded by Mr. Horton, it was RESOLVED to gram_t the appl_caoton of Lawrence T. Waitz £or~l o££shore mooring at the northern end of Mu-d Creek, CutchOgue. Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, H~taier, Vote o£ the Board: Bird and Horton. was On motion made by Mr. Horton, seconded by Mr. Rober'tson, it RESOLVED that.the following is the recommendation o£ the Board o£_Town Trustees~in.regs~d to-the-request o£ the Town Board £or findings-~and recommendations on 'the Wetland Application #28:o£ Harriet Spi!man: At a reg~lar-meeting o£ the Boarm om Tov. m_ Trustees held December 6, 1976, the following action was taken: RESOLVED that Harriet Spi!man, West Creek Avenue, Cutchogue, New York be granted permission to construct walkway and £1oating dock'at Litt!eCreek, directly in front o£ her property at West Creek Avenue, Cutchogue, New York, all ~in accordsm_ce with the detailed speci£ications as presented in the originat~mg application, subject to obtaining wetlands permit from the Southold To,ma Board and permit from~the~]ew York'State D~partmen~ o£ Environmental Conservation (i£ required). Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton. Sebastian's Gutter. The following information was to be trans- mitted to the Ptsm~aing Board. I£ there were any proper~y that the Town or County or any body wanted to retire as a wetland area, this would be one o£ the best. Upon inspection, Mr. Hataier reported he cou~dr~'t find any existence of a dredged channel and wo~!d recommend that this particular area should not be dredged. ~nis was agreed upon by all members. P~. Robertson made a motion, seconded by I~r. Horton and carried that a letter be written to' the Planning Board that the Board of Town Trustees would look upon any such project with disfavor. There was a discussion on moorings in Narrow River and a //request will be made to the Town Board for a meeting on this matter on February 8. Mr. Bird made a motion, seconded by F~. Robertson ~nd carried to approve the minutes o£ the meeting of Js~_uary 241 On motion made by Mr. Bird, seconded by Mm. Horton, ~t was RESOLVEDthat Murie! Brush be appointed as secretary o£ the Board o£~Southold Town Trustees for the year 1977 and until notice o£ change of such appointment. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Goldsmith, Robertson, Hataier, Bird and Horton. The next meeting o£ the Board o£ Town Trustees will be held on March 8, 1977.
