HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-04/04/1978290 A regular.meeting of the Board of Southold Town Trustees was held April 4, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New York. Present were: · President Philip G. Horton Trustee Scott Harris Trustee John Nickles TruStee Paul Stoutenburgh On motion made' by Mr. Stoutenburgh, seconded by Mr. NickleS, it was~ RESOLVED to approve the applibation of Oarl A. Hergrueter to place a mooring at Arshamomaque Pond off private property. ~es: Horton,-Harris, Nickles,~ Vote of the Board: StOutenburgh ~,'~ There was discussion about some derelict boats in %he area and Mr. Hergrueter Was told that they would be removed by the Bay Constable. A letter was received from the Town Clerk relative to the application to the Department of the-Army, Corps of.Engineers,' by Port of Egypt Enterprises, Inc. This matter has .already been approved by the Board of Town Trustees by resolution dated October 4, 1977. This information is to be transmitted to the Town Clerk. ~ On motion made by Mr. Nickles, seconded by Mr. Harris, it was RESOLVED to approve the application of John R. Lambert to use moorings #27~and #28 on the Goose Bay Map in front of private property of the applicant at Goose Creek. Vote 'of theBoard: Ayes: Horton, Harris,. Nickles, Stoutenburgh The ramp put in by the Goose Bay Assn. was investigated at the request of Mr. Melchione. Mr. Melchione is to be told to move his mooring over if he is having a problem with the ramp. On motion made by Mr. Harris, secondedlby Mr. Stoutenburgh, RESOLVED to approve the application of Baldwin Humm to 'erect 75 feet of bulkheading in front of private property at Gull ~Pond 291 a permit to be issued upon receipt of an accurate detailed survey of the property. Vote of the Board: Ayes: Horton, Harris, Nickles, Stoutenburgh -. Receipt is acknowledged of a letter from. the Town Clerk requesting from the Town Board that the Town Trustees take -whatever action they deem appropriate' on a letter from James B. Kaminsky regarding a request fo~ dredging in MattitUck Creak. The Supe~visor's office has written to the Corps of Engineers requesting a survey of Mattituck Inlet. A .letter is to'-be written to the Army Corps representative in Riverhead concurring with the Town Board asking for a survey saying that the Trustees as the persons dealing with waterways of the town realize the importance, of this request and support .the Town Board's position and will contact the local man in expectation he will come out and check the situation. A letter was acknowledged from'Boatmen's Harbor Marina regarding emergency dreding they expect to do in Wickham's Creek. Receipt-of letter from Gardiners Hay Estates Club,.!nc. was acknowledged regarding a ten-year maintenance permit they have. This letter was directed to the New York StateDept. of E~vironmental Conservation. Mr. H0rton appointed John Nickles to act as president in his absence. Mr~ Stoutenburgh made a m~tion, seconded by Trustee Harris and carried to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 7~ 1978. The next meeting will be held May 23 1978.
